Tomate Fresh continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Evanston. Considering prices and quality, few restaurants compare in my eyes. There's no in-house seating, but it's ready so fast and it's so delicious that there's no need to linger. (It's also across the street from a park for an easy picnic.) My favorite dishes include anything with their black beans and grilled cheese combination (not a grilled cheese sandwich, but just a glorious pile of crispy cheese). If the average Burrito was a Chipotle Carne Asada then this is very starchy in comparison. Being fair I sprung for extras like sour cream and pico de Gallo. I found myself screaming for the little, bland salsa that came with it to change up the giant ball of rice. To the good side, it had a very clean feel and hit the spot in a pinch. If this isn't your neighborhood then there's plenty of other taquerias. It's worth a try. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
