Whit's is a small frozen custard place that has better taste than the big chains. We came at a busy time, and they were very quick with getting everyone's order. They had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available and had a great ambiance.

My husband and I enjoyed some Whit's up in Lebanon after a Halloween Railroad event. It was very tasty and hit the spot on the unseasonably warm October day. A couple weeks later we wanted to go back to one closer to home. As yummy as their frozen custard is, I'm personally disappointed with the style of their menu. The basic vanilla and chocolate are available every day and some specialty creations. There are plenty of toppings to add on, but I'm not usually one for excess toppings. In addition to the basic flavors, you have the flavor of the day, the flavor of the week, and the flavor of the month. You're in luck if any of those are flavors you'd like to try on the day you happen to be there, and you can even go on their website or to one of the stores to keep up with the schedule and plan the time you'd like to be there in order to get a flavor you're interested in. I would prefer to be able to get the specific flavor/creation I wanted anytime, so that's the only con in my opinion.

Hands down our favorite treat. Last time we went, however, the price was like two dollars more for what we usually purchase…I get a cone and the wife a cup and the price was over twelve dollars. Lost a couple of customers.

The one thing about frozen custard is everyone wants to compare it to ice cream but you really can't. Yes, it can have various flavors like ice cream but the texture is different. Whenever you go, always opt for the seasonal favorite...you won't be disappointed!

I've been getting Ice cream cakes from a competitor for 20 yrs and this yr when they couldn't get the flavor in time for fathers day, I went to Whits . I will be coming back. The flavor and quality of how it's presented is amazing. Whits in independence is awesome!

I absolutely love their custard (way, way better than Culvers) but the last few times we tried to get some they were either doing freezer “grab & go” only, or nobody was manning the counter. We also tried calling several times to ask about cakes (which they don’t do anymore), but they don’t answer their phones and there’s no option to leave a message.

The frozen custard is great... If you have an hour to get it. 3 people in line ahead of us, we waited almost 15 mins and the line never moved so we left. This is a normal thing for this store, unfortunately.
