We love Wholly Stromboli!! Even though it's a drive from downtown Denver, it's totally worth it!! The atmosphere is delightful... walking in, you see the inviting bar to your left and booths & tables to the right, with music from the big band era and crooners like Sinatra and Buble in an old brick building that has so much character. The wait staff is friendly, checks in and pays attention. The food is terrific... their specialty is Stromboli... duh! But pizza and pasta dishes are fantastic as well. I had the Chicken Parm, while my honey had the Baltic Circle Pizza, both excellent!! But the real reason we make a 45 minute drive to this restaurant is the Bread Pudding!! It is to die for!! Served sizzling hot and made with their pizza dough covered in a Grand Marnier cream sauce with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, it's simply heaven!! This is a restaurant to make one of your regular stops!! You won't be sorry!! Came in for lunch and we were welcomed right away and seated. Jeff was very friendly and being our first time explained the menu so politely. I’m usually very hesitant to order garlic knots anywhere because they can be overpowering. These were amazing and a great balance of flavors. The marinara sauce and the Stromboli was incredibly done as well. This place did not disappoint and we will definitely be back especially when warmer to enjoy the nice patio! This place is absolutely TERRIBLE!! Overpriced, bland and horrible customer service. My 7 year old daughter can make better pasta than this restaurant. The price is insane, and the portion sizes are a joke. My coworkers and I decided to get take out from here. The shrimp scampi is by far the worst I have ever had, the chicken parm was over sauced (maybe to make up for how dry the chicken was) and the vodka sauce was so greasy. When my coworker called he spoke to a man named Jeff who didn’t even offer to make something else or maybe a free piece of cheesecake. If you are going to charge that much for mediocre food you might want take care of your customers when they call to complain about the food. I was willing to give this place another shot if they offered something to make up for the service we received, but nope! Avoid this place at all cost. Overall really enjoyed the environment and food. Wish I'd of been acknowledged and checked on a bit more frequent. Finished my meal before had the opportunity to order another beer. I'm more so interested in checking out the speakeasy next weekend. There is a frequent diner program, but wasn't offered or asked if interested.
