Brasserie Hippeau in Amboise is a restaurant that promises a lot but fails to deliver. The restaurant has a beautiful location, with a charming little square to the rear. The interior is a bit dull for such a historic building, but it's still acceptable. The staff are professional, but unfortunately the food does not live up to expectations. Most of the reviews mention that the food was either reheated leftovers or just plain bad. The dishes were under-sized and lukewarm, and desserts were off. Prices are quite high for the quality of food they serve. The competition in the area is much better and I would recommend going to Chez Bruno instead. All in all, Brasserie Hippeau is a restaurant to avoid.
