For those looking for fantastic scenery this is a great spot over looking the water. It is a bit off the beaten path, which isn't necessarily a negative. There are multiple places to sit indoors and still have a great view. Weather permitting you should sit outside. The atmosphere is great. Never had a bad experience with any of the staff. They are on point and friendly. The food is a 4. Not that it isn't tasty or well prepared, it certainly is, only that it is a bit high priced for what you get. That said, I'll gladly pay a few extra bucks for a meal with a view. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What a terrific experience in every way! Dog Watch turned us away (a little rudely) because we had no reservations at 2 pm on a Sunday, and I'm glad they did! Right down the street was this beautiful oasis of welcoming delight! An excellent & varied menu was available and we were very happy with our choices. Great location, great happy hour W-F. Do not be in a time crunch if you come here and sit at the bar, typically takes a few minutes for you to be acknowledged, then a few more to actually place an order. We are vacationing again in Stonington, and wanted to return to Breakwater. Beautiful views and service, great lobster roll (hot), and tasty "The Gray" gin cocktail. We also enjoyed the cod fish & chips and the clam chowder. The filet was substantial. We will return again the next time we visit the area.
