Very cute place. You place your order on a kiosk then have a seat. The kiosk asked if I wanted to add a tip and I clicked no. Then a guy that worked there came to our table and asked if we were dining in as he circled it on my receipt. I said yes. Then he proceeded to circle the zero tip. He said no tip but you dine in? I tip based on service, not when I pay upfront. So rude. I've never experienced that kind of unprofessionalism. The food wasn't even that good. I will never eat there again.

My best friend took me out to lunch for my birthday and I chose this restaurant, what a great choice, exceptional would be the one word I would use to describe the food and ambiance.
You seat yourself, the menu is on the kiosk you order and pay from, very seamless and effortless.
The food (we mostly had sushi rolls) arrived very quickly and was beyond amazing, even after we left we both kept saying how good everything was. The owners were extremely polite and attentive, they even gave us a small cut up fresh fruit bowl that was a perfect ending to a wonderful lunch. Well deserved 5 star rating from me and I'm sure my friend will leave a 5 star review as well!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Hagaya, a Japanese sushi and ramen shop that left me deeply disappointed and disheartened. From the moment I stepped through the door, the atmosphere was clouded with an air of hostility that persisted throughout the entire meal.
The owners, whose names I won't dignify by mentioning, were shockingly rude and displayed a level of customer service that bordered on harassment. It's disheartening to recount my visit, but I feel compelled to share this cautionary tale.
The culinary experience began on a sour note with the owners displaying an appalling lack of courtesy. Instead of providing guidance on the menu or offering recommendations, they chose to berate patrons who sought clarification on certain dishes. This created an unwelcoming environment that overshadowed any anticipation I had for the meal.
As if the verbal abuse weren't enough, the actual food left much to be desired. The sushi was subpar, with a noticeable lack of freshness in the fish. The ramen, touted as a specialty, was a mere shadow of what one would expect from a reputable establishment. The flavors were bland, and the noodles were overcooked, resembling a lackluster attempt at authenticity.
What truly struck me was the owners' blatant disregard for basic decency. At multiple points during the meal, they made derogatory remarks about customers' appearances, creating an uncomfortable and hostile dining experience. This behavior is not only unprofessional but entirely unacceptable in any establishment that purports to be a place of hospitality.

Best place to eat in Emporia. I periodically travel to Emporia for work and I eat at Hagaya every time I come. They always remember me and the food is always perfect. So many options an a quiet inviting atmosphere. The table QR code ordering is super convenient. Don't forget to scroll down at checkout so you can include the tip. I highly suggest the Asura Roll!
