Nice view of the bay though we couldn't sit outside. Very great food! Awesome service! We spoke french between and were lucky enough to have a francophone as our waitress. She was a charm. Went on February 23th, 2024.

My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience. We arrived at 5pm for dinner because we didn't have reservations. We were offered bar seats or an indoor table. We chose bar seats because they had a beautiful view of the bay. Our server, Isabella, was great. She welcomed us right away, was very attentive, offered wine tasters, and made food recommendations. Our food was delicious and of the quality I expect for the price. Overall, the atmosphere, service and food were a great value and memorable dining experience. This was one of our coolest dining experiences on the Big Island! Sitting on the veranda overlooking Hilo Bay was a spectacular setting. I've traveled the globe and always try specialty cocktails where I go. I have a new global favorite - the "lime in da Coconut". Since I was a kid I always heard the song but never saw it on a drink menu. It was a no brainer to try it. Nothing i can say here will do it justice so I'll just say "go get one"!!! We ordered onion Rings as an appetizer and they were as good as any we've had! They were lightly cooked in salt and vinegar and they were delicious! The fish and Chips dish was great and the other entrees were excellent. We'll be going back to Hilo and we'll definitely be making reservations for HBC a few times during our next visit!!! Today was my first time here in the new location.. I had been before when they were in the mall area.. this new spot is lovely.. I love the open space..tables not too close to each other.. very kind hostess who even turned down the stereo sound for me as I was near the speaker.. I prefer to enjoy the view and the ambiance without extra noise.. spicy California roll was good..my mother really enjoyed the garlic shrimp yakisoba, lots of shrimp.. my butter fish was delicate and delicious but I would have preferred at bit more on the salad..maybe more chunks that I could break up myself..we loved the Molton lava choc cake and the cinnamon tres leche cake..excellent service.. spectacular view of Hilo bay .. Simply amazing! Special call out to Sierra for fantastic service accommodating a couple of walk in tourists. We had the misokayki butterfish salad, carpaccio, and the Hilo sunset sushi roll. Awesome place. Plan and make a reservation if your a large party. Sat with a party of 6. Got food in a timely manner with no issues.Came around sunset. Sat outside with a lovely view. Temperature was perfect. Hostess and waitress were more than helpful with any questions we had and provided excellent service. Ordered a rainbow roll and the buttermilk fried chicken. So delicious. Great location near a beautiful park with great views of the ocean. Gorgeous decor and excellent food. Temperature was a bit warm as all windows and doors were open, but not too bad. The most obvious way to get into the restaurant is by the stairs in the front, but there is also an elevator in back. Plenty of parking. Reservations are definitely recommended. Amazing views of Hilo Bay paired with great food. Come early if you want to sit on the open deck. We particularly loved the inventive rolls, but loved all the food we ate.
