We showed up at 915pm on Saturday 2/3/24 after a cheer comp, ready to eat and the restaurant was empty. It was also my dad’s birthday so we were hoping to get him a decent dinner. I asked the server/hostess if they were still open and she said yes but they close at 10 (google said 24 hrs). Asked if we could still eat and she sighed, rolled her eyes and said “sure.” She sat us, then mumbled under her breath something about “hope you’re not too hungry.” Then she went to the kitchen and was yelling with the cook about us being there and “no one told me I couldn’t seat anyone!” Her and the cook continued to go back and forth about us being there so we got up and left because we felt unwelcome about the whole thing. We were barely there under 5 minutes, as we were leaving another family was walking in and she turned them away as well. It was just weird that they would keep the doors unlocked if they didn’t want anyone to eat there. I get it that it’s getting late but the website did say 24 hours so how would we have known. The whole interaction was weird and IMO unprofessional. We went to Dennys a few blocks down and the food was great, and service was fast and friendly. We definitely won’t be going back to this IHOP. Stuck in Banning for Jury Duty. Was seated in a reasonable amount of time. Bacon Classic Burger w/ fries was very good. Although most places offer more fries. The waffle with ice cream for a dessert was delicious. Food and service was great. Warning: total came to $29 just for one person. Good for a once in a while treat though. Took one off for Atmosphere because just two front of house people working. They did an outstanding job. But whoever runs this place should be put in the same situation. The food was good and came out in a reasonable time. For just two wait staff, the place looked clean. I'm guessing they had someone from the back helping clear tables. They were wiping them off and seating the next group. Once again, whoever runs this place should praise these amazing two ladies. So if you're not grumpy and want good service, then stop in.
