I was so impressed with this place. We happened to come in at the same time as a team after a meet and a party that seemed to be a large extended family. Easily 50 people hit them at the same time. I deeply regretted my choice to go there. They took orders efficiently and turned out food quickly. No one even seemed stressed about it. The food was delicious!! Tables were open within an hour. I’m not sure if this happens regularly, if the team gave them a heads up, or if they are just really well run, but they handled it like professionals. And if they did not anticipate this - they have some real world class talent there to be able to stay calm and turn out that much amazing food. We eat out a lot all around the country and some internationally. Everything from home in the wall joints to Michelin rated establishments. Their performance blew my mind. Great time! We got chicken and veggie tacos, they were simple but good. Both were satisfying and at a great price! Wish they had more sauce options that were not so spicy but that's personal preference 😆. Also got the mango slushie for $6, expensive but it was a nice cool drink on a warm day and the flavor was so intense! Staff were very polite, seating and tables were clean, great vibes. This place is owned by the same person that owns taco bar by rio/gas station. Awesome place to get tacos that come close to authentic but nothing beats Mexico City tacos! 4 star for 4 reasons! 1. Good variety of tacos and the best tacos are the Lengua which is beef tongue! Everything else is pretty good for what they are. 2. Nice atmosphere and nice staff 3. Easy parking and great location 4. Relatively cheap and about the same with other locations here. Minus 1 star because they took out the topping section ( onions, sauces, cilantro and more:) and beef tongue 5 dollar for one taco is insane. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Hidden Gem in Gaithersburg - Ixtapalapa Taqueria Ixtapalapa Taqueria in Gaithersburg, MD, is a hidden gem in the DMV area. Run by the same owner as Tacos el Guero, you know you're in for a treat. I tried the Tacos de Cochinita and Tacos de Cachete, both bursting with flavor. The Esquites and grilled Jalapeño sides were delicious. I washed it down with a refreshing Horchata. The service and ambiance were top-notch. Ixtapalapa Taqueria is a must-visit for authentic, budget-friendly Mexican cuisine. Can't wait to try more! I was in the general area and had a feeling for tacos, so I landed at Ixtapalapa Taqueria. This Mexican eatery offers authentic tacos (sudadera, cochinita pibil, lengua, etc.) but also many other Mexican dishes, like esquites, pozole, etc. You place your order at the cashier, and a server brings it to you. I ordered a mango agua fresca which i found a little bit too sweet for my taste. I also ordered esquites (Mexican white corn with mayo and cotija cheese) which were not bad, but needed more epazote. I also ordered three tacos (sudadera, cochinita pibil and lengua). The tacos were authentic, served on double corn tortillas and dressed with raw chopped onion and cilantro. The server brought three sauces, which were not particularly good (green tomatillo, red chile and a third undetermined one). The service was a little slow, but this was a Sunday and the place was pretty busy. The decor is very modest, with wooden benches, but very clean. This is a wonderful low-key spot for well priced and well made tacos. The parking lot is a bit sketchy to get in and out of, but the food and great service are worth it. My favorite items to order from here are the pescado tacos and the mango aqua fresca. The fish is delicious and crispy, the pickled cabbage they add is a great touch. Great taqueria! Authentic, family-owned joint. I knew when I looked around and saw the packed place was full of locals enjoying and talking in Spanish that it was not a generic chain taco shop. If you like hot salsas, they have you covered - whew! Of 3 tacos I tried, the steak was the best. Grilled cactus was interesting. The guacamole was fresh.
