Nothing can be better than ordering nicely cooked chicken pies, salmon and prawns. At this bar, try good banana split, cheesecakes and macarons. The wine list is extensive, it can satisfy the needs of all visitors. Delicious coffee, ice tea or juice are worth a try here. The cheerful staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. If you want to enjoy professional service, you should visit Max's. From the guests' viewpoint, prices are democratic. You will appreciate the modern decor and exotic atmosphere of this place. Based on the users' feedback on Google, this spot deserved 4.1.

Maxes was recommended So I took a small party of 15 there, and was extremely pleasantly surprised. The prices are an extreme value with a Wonderful atmosphere. The service was very warm and welcoming and a joy to experance. At my table, we ordered everything from sandwiches to pastas to spicy chicken And all my friends and family really enjoyed their meal . If you have big party or just a couple please give Maxs a try … they have a wonderful bar and great food at prices you just can’t beat . Feb 6, 6pm reservation. The hummus starter, is store bought hummus. I had grandma’s honey chicken, it was dry chicken with Sysco instant mashed potatoes and sauce from a plastic jug, and $12 slice of store bought cheesecake. The server took the order while someone else served the food and had to auction off our food, there were only two of us. The order taker should serve the food to avoid this game of who had what dish, it’s not very professional. I never complain or send food back because I’m afraid of what will be done to it and I don’t want to be seen as a “Karen.” I just won’t return. This is a really nice restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Auburn. Of course it's great for travelers but wonderful for locals as well. I had a great Cobb Salad and my friend had kind of delicious shrimp dish, along with mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The bartender was our server because we ate in the bar and he recommended the top shelf Margarita, which was excellent. We used to go to Max’s in Marin County. My husband loved the “Donnie Linker” sandwich. I always forget there’s a Max’s in Auburn because they’re in a weird location - inside a Holiday Inn. But, I remembered yesterday so we set off to have lunch there. I was driving to it by memory and not using my GPS - it’s really not easy to find - no signage in the hotel parking lot directs you to the restaurant. Anyway, found it, came in and were seated right away. We were then greeted right away by a server who took our drink order. We got those right away, too. Then the server left and we never saw him again. We sat there for what felt like a very long time. We were in the lounge area, not the dining room. The bartender helped a table who was seated after us, but no one came back to us. So we left. Bummer. Maybe we’ll try again some other time.

The hostesses were unsmiling, looked unhappy to be there, and gave the minimal greeting. Our waitress was amazing. She was friendly, conversational, helpful, and patient. The food was mediocre and overpriced for the quality. All the meat was undercooked even after requesting medium-well. Flavors were leaning toward bland.
