Staying at the hotel and went down to eat. We were seated right away and put in the back of the restaurant. Lady gave my kids things to color. After we found what we wanted to eat, sat and waited…and waited…and waited. Three or more other groups were sat after us and had drinks and ordered food. We hadn’t even gotten drinks yet let alone a server to stop by. One table, seated across the aisle from us, didn’t even have their coats off and nor fully sat down and got their drink order taken. I think overall, the experience was pretty good! I enjoyed the food (wasn't the best on planet earth), the service was OUTSTANDING (my server was Mohammed who did very, very well), and the atmosphere was pretty relaxing and festive. The only things I'd comment on are how the food was warm, but not hot when we got it. Also, the menu selection is pretty limited compared to what I've heard it used to be. I was fine with this though, as I think they had some pretty good options. I would also say that the food was good, but I wouldn't say that it was amazing. Especially for a place that is finer dining, I was hoping for a more flavor-rich, special meal. I would say the price was a bit much for the quality of the food, in my opinion. I must say though, our server Mohammad was truly outstanding. He remembered all of our orders (all 9 of us with special requests) and his timing of everything was perfect, checking in occasionally but not too much. He was very kind and interacted with us, but not in any way that would be annoying or uncomfortable. He did great also to keep our drinks filled and our dishes taken care of. He truly made the night worth it. Would I return here? Likely, but probably for special occasions for business or if others would like to come here, but I am not sure I would pick here first for my options to eat out. I am so glad I tried this place again after an abysmal meal three years ago. I had heard something about new management or new cooking staff so thought I'd give it another try. Menu is definitely new and the food was excellent across the whole table. Minerva's had certainly become the place to go for steak in Aberdeen, albeit not too frequent given the prices, but that's been with most places. Went for a dinner while in town for work a nice restaurant inside the hotel. Service was sub par waitress was rude and in her own world maybe understaffed at the time. House salad was wilted and brown got the chicken carbonara not what I was expecting made with tortellini and broccoli very little chicken and not much flavor I would say skip for the prices but it is convenient if you are sting at the hotel. The fact that this place is in a hotel instead of it's own dedicated place is a disservice to humanity as a whole. Experience a perfectly chill atmosphere. Drinks are excellent, food is great too. Little bit expensive but definitely worth it. The IPA beer is great, the burgers are awesome, and I loved the Tiramisu!
