we thoroughly enjoyed dinner this evening. We shared the mussels appetizer, each had a salad, I had the curried shrimp with vegetables and my husband had the special -lamb shank. The food was perfectly prepared and service was terrific! We had the bread pudding and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Both were great but the bread pudding was wonderful! The food was reasonably priced and we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. We will return next time we come to town. What a beautiful establishment. We had the most delicious food. Steak you could cut with a butter knife. The sea scallops were cooked to perfection. Everything was beautifully prepared. From the appies, the delicious bisque, the main course to the dessert. There was not a flaw in any part of the meal. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was romantic and cozy. Our waitress Karenza did a great job tonight. Her service was 5 star and superb. The food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. We had the Crab and Salmon Cakes, Beef Wellington, and Herb Crusted Salmon. The wine was also exceptional. The menu was well created and had something for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The atmosphere was delightful. The outdoor patio was well decorated and spacious. The outdoor heaters were appreciated by those who were a bit cool. Clearly, this restaurant has a winning formula. I made my reservation about two weeks ago. I made it for Valentine’s Day. I spoke with someone the day I called to make the reservation, they called me once about a week before my reservation, and I called the day of my reservation. No one told me that their menu was going to be limited for Valentine’s Day. I asked if we could order from the full menu and I was told no due to the large number of people. I still wanted to give them a try, so my husband and I ordered the beef wellington. The food was out maybe 5 minutes after ordering it. My husband was done with it in three bites, I kid you not. That’s how small it was (I wish I would have taken a picture). It all felt very rushed and the food seemed like they already had it prepared, then put it in the microwave to reheat it then brought it out. We were asked if we were done with a plate probably about 4-5 times while we were eating. I understand that a lot of people wanted a reservation for Valentine’s Day. However, I feel like if there are that many people, maybe there shouldn’t be as many reservations, so that people can enjoy their experience. I was so excited to try this place as I heard nothing but great things. I plan on giving them another try on a different night in hopes that next time will be better. I give two stars because our waiter was very nice and he was not rushing us. Food: 1

It's okay, overall very mid. I had the Aprocot Salmon, best part was hands down the apricot paste. I also ordered the "Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper Bisque" that left much to be desired, and brought down the whole experience. The "bisque" did not have the signature velvety texture of a bisque, instead it was lumpy and tasted exactly like a bowl of Prego marinara sauce. WOW! River City Grill exceeded our expectations - and they weren’t low expectations, either! I’d read a lot of reviews (Yelp and elsewhere) that were positive, and they sure were right about that. It started with outstanding service, from Jenna (hope I didn’t misspell it because it might be Jena). She greeted us immediately, brought out bread, welcomed us in, asked about drinks, and we were off to a great start. My wife was even able to get that excellent gluten-free bread, and I had the regular bread, also great. Wine price point was great, as was the selection. Lots of gluten-free or gluten-friendly options. VERY flexible with modifications. Food was phenomenal, really high quality. I had the herb crusted chicken Dijon and it blew me away. The chicken itself was tender and delicious but the preparation put it over the top. Crispy, tangy, atop a bed of excellent pesto penne, with delicious fresh seasonal vegetables. Wow. My wife had shrimp and scallops over gluten-free pasta and she loved her dish as well. To finish off the meal, my wife had a great Manhattan on the rocks (well, the official bourbon / Manhattan ice cube), using a great Yellowstone bourbon Jenna recommended. Right on! And I can’t stop thinking about the chocolate amaretto mousse. I’m not usually a fan of these types of chocolate desserts because they’re typically too sweet for me, but man was this great! Smooth, creamy, you could really taste the chocolate, it wasn’t overwhelmed by the sugar, and the fresh whipped cream next to it was a great complement. Plus the little amaretto cookie, nice touch. Ambiance was also excellent - loved the artwork on the walls, cool bar, nice vibe. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had, we’ll remember this for a long time. It was a great start to an anniversary trip and we will definitely return when we’re in Yuma again. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and treated like family. The service is outstanding, and everyone here works really hard to make sure you have a wonderful time! Then you get to the food and it is outstanding. Lovely presentation and the tastes makes you want to set up your next reservation while paying for your check. Pro tip: make a reservation.
