I hope that it was just an off night. We ordered gin and tonics. We received gin and soda and no lime. Turned out they didn't have tonic water. We ordered the bbq sampler and a brisket sandwich. I was surprised by how long it took to get our food given how empty the restaurant was. The brisket wasn’t bad, but not nothing special. The bbq sampler was ... awful. The ribs were edible ... but tasted like they had been cooked a week ago. The pulled pork was greasy and had a strange sour taste to it. We each ate just one bite of it. The pulled chicken was dry and tasteless and also went uneaten. The waitress was pleasant at first but never checked in on us and didn’t even bring our check. The manager finally brought it. He seemed to be offended that we didn't want a box for the uneaten food. I've eaten a lot of excellent bbq in my day and was expecting to have a great meal here. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Homemade soul food prepared fresh! Great space with a bar that showed the Super Bowl. Howard (manager) runs the place with his cousin (chef) and deliver exceptional customer service! Ordered the fresh fried Catfish and it was seasoned very well and full of flavor and tender meat. This is definitely a great stop in/out of Massanutten after some skiing! P.S. The cornbread here is AMAZING! Food: 5 Service: 5

Came here after a long ski trip, and it was AMAZING. The food definitely tastes home made, and Howard, the manager, was such a great host. Please be sure to try the Jerk Chicken with Coconut rice, it will change your life. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

First time here, cash only long wait for menus once we seated ourselves. Sweet tea was perfect, Buffalo shrimp was tasty but a bit cool temp wise. Took a looong time to get food. Reasonably priced.
