Wow! This place is delicious. A little off the beaten path but so worth it. It was packed at 130 and after trying the food you know why. Besides the delicious food, the service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly. I had the gumbo and it was delicious. I also had the local caught fried shrimp. The seasoning was delicious. They were crunchy and they already had the tails removed, so I got to enjoy every bite. I ended up having the potato salad and it was creamy and seasoned perfectly. Definitely a must try. We read a review in Costal Magazine about Taranto's and decided to give it a visit. It was a best decision. The place it off the charts. First clue was as we arrived at 11:30 am the parking lot was almost full. We were met at the door by a very happy and friendly server and escorted to our table. A few minutes later we had menus and very knowledgeable server to help us select our lunch items. I choose the combo plater of catfish and shrimp and my friends selected the seafood plater. Both were unbelievable fresh and extremely tasty. We tried sample and we both agree this was the best fried fish we have ever had. Hands down. I encourage you to take the trip and visit Taranto's. Service was 10/10. Shrimp Po Boy lacked flavor as I felt it was too much bread and shrimp was cooked perfectly but lacked taste. Had to add tartar sauce to make it not so dry. No side with my meal. Stopped in here for lunch. Ordered a shrimp basket. The shrimp were really tasty. The batter was light they were cooked a little too long so the shrimp were kind of hard. Also got a side order of hush puppies. They were cooked a little bit too long. Kinda hard…. too. French fries were awesome. My basket came with toast it was good too.. They do have many menu options. Lots to choose from. Bathrooms were clean, parking lot was clean restaurant overall was very clean. The service was great and prompt. The waitresses made sure we had plenty enough to drink. The atmosphere was wonderful. I will go back again at another time and give them a second chance they were crowded when we got there, so I know the food is good maybe they were just having an off day …….. Are you skeptical from having a long drive to get here? Do not be! So I wanted to try Crawfish although we were not that hungry. We decided to come here. Let's start with the cute decoration, it is an authentic place that has everything local Mississippi related, and the table and bathroom were all clean. The waitresses were not only kind but also paid attention to every détails, she suggested a Soda refill as soon as my husband finished his diet coke. After a couple of chit chats, we realized it is a family owned business, she was the daughter of the owner who was in the cashier (the mother), which is impressive. One thing I appreciated more, I have seen more females hired over there than any other places, from cashier, to waitresses, to the kitchen team. The food came very shortly after we ordered; - Gumbo, Shrimp and Crawfish bisque ($9.99) was out of this world, we had the big bowl, plenty of small shrimps and crawfish that we shared, it has also green beans on it. - Fried Oyster salad ($13.99): the Oyster were fresh and soft and the cook was very generous with the quantity, the ranch dressing was home made (very yummy), the croutons were home made as well, they use a soft bun for the croûton which is different from the commercial ones. - Po-boy Crawfish ($8.99), the half size was enough for two peoples to share. She gave us their special sauce, it is a mix of mayo, hot sauce, and something else, yet it was very new and yummy for my palet. They had fried pickled jalapeños which gave an extra taste to the Po-boy. The only cons: the Po-boy was a bit dry but after adding their house sauce and mayo, it became less dry. They did not give us french fries with it though (not sure if it is supposed to be with French fries). We do not regret coming here, I wish I could have stayed another night in Bioloxi to try more from their menu. I am hoping we can come back one of these days.
