Enjoy perfectly cooked zucchini fritters, tartare and lamb at this bar when you happen to be near it. Spend a nice time here and share tasty ice cream, crème brûlée and biscuits with your friends. Zinnia will offer you good Sangria, beer or wine. It is good to try great latte. The warm atmosphere of this place makes guests feel relaxed and have a nice time. A lot of people mark that the hostess is courteous at this spot. From the guests' point of view, prices are average. Cute decor is appreciated by guests. Google users are quite generous with this bar: it was rated 4.5 stars.

My fiancé and I were looking to have a simple lunch and were met with a very displeasing experience. When we walked in around 4 pm we were asked by a waitress if we had a reservation, to which we answered no. She walked to the back to check for a table and in that time another waitress came over and was simply going to seat us, no questions asked. When the waitress returned, she told us there was a table in the main dining room, but that we had to be out within two hours because it was reserved “for an event”. We sit down and are served, but throughout our meal we notice MULTIPLE other groups being sat in the room that supposedly was being used at 6 “for an event”. Our waiter was kind and gave us drinks on the house, however we were clearly being rushed out of the restaurant, as we were being handed the receipt before we were done ordering food and drinks. This seems to be a pattern with certain groups of people while reading through the other reviews and clearly certain people are not very welcomed in this restaurant. Overall, not a great lunch and won’t be returning. ETA: Both the room we were seated in, the other room next to it and even seats outside were ALL empty, both upon arrival and leaving. I’ve been to Zinnia a few times and it’s always an amazing experience. The food, drinks, and staff are always exceptional. My fiancé and I love this spot so much we decided to make it the venue for our engagement party. I highly recommend them for a nice lunch/dinner spot or to host your event. I usually don't post reviews but my fiancee and I had a very strange experience here. We came in at around 4 pm and the host asked us first if we had a reservation. We didn't so she told us she would check if they had tables. After she left another host came and was about to seat us when the first host came back. She told us she had a table but we could only be there till 6 pm because there was an event at that time. During our dinner we noticed that the space was mostly empty and new people were being seated actively. After our dessert, our waiter brought the check immediately without us asking for it. He did not charge us for our drinks which I appreciated. However, it felt like they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. This made no sense since there were plenty of empty tables and new people were coming in to be seated. I went to Zinnia with my date at 5pm. Feb. 17 on my birthday. I have called many times in the past 2 years to makke a reservation and every time I have been told there is no need. This evening I went there and saw dozens of empty tables. The 2 hosts told me that there were reservations for all these tables within the next hour. My date and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. A few people trickeled in and at 6 , I asked to see the manager. He pompously told me that I should know that he had a lot of reservations for that time period and that I should understand his situation. We left at 6:15 and there were still dozens of empty tables. I will never return to Zinnias. It has the worst customer service of any upscale restaurant in Silver Spring. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
