Overpriced and average food, AKA a tourist trap. We ordered the parillada dish that was described as big and to be shared between 3 people. The dish was not as big as expected, lobster was small and there were only few stripes of squid. The sides (rice, veggies and beans) were also on the small side and definite not enough for 3 people. They charged for this dish $1400 although on the menu the price was $1100 (which was already overpriced for what we got). When we asked for the bill, they just showed us a piece of paper with the total, not itemized items. This was the first restaurant we visited in Mexico, so we paid and left. Only after we realized they overcharged us, but I noticed that in some of the version of menu online the price for parillada is a $1400

By recommendation of a couple who have been visiting for 30 years, we tried Abuelos. BEST meal of our week on Isla. My husband ate tacos everywhere we went and declared Abuelos’ tacos the best. The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful - loved it as well as the fish tacos.
* and you can watch the fresh ingredients being artfully put together in the open kitchen on the second level open air dining area.

Hands down, the best food on the island! When we were choosing a hotel for our stay, we chose one to be close to this restaurant so we could eat our meals here. It is across the street from Ixchel. The food is amazing. Everything is home-made. Cooked from scratch in front of you. My favorites are guacamole, conch, Mayan fish fillet, scallops... Come to think of it, every dish I had there was just perfect. Everything is always fresh and cooked just right. No money can buy the level of authenticity offered here, and yet they have great prices. There is a nice breeze. Good vibes. Clean. Quiet and relaxing, away from all the noise. The staff is very friendly, quick, and treats you very well. The family speaks English. Anything you ask, they make it their priority. You are made to feel at home. A great place to bring your family.

Yum! Bueno! Love that this little gem is off the main tourist street... the food is more true Mexican. Super tasty, and on the more affordable side. $40 USD fed our family of four very well (all stuffed). We even got a couple mango smoothies (SO tasty) for that price. I got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp were so fresh and some of the best I've had. Wish we were on the island more so we could keep coming to this restaurant.

5 star experience in this little restaurant!
This was probably my best meal of my Mexico trip. I had the Tuna with ginger and soja sauce and it was cooked to perfection. My friends tried the red snapper and that was also amazing. The service (as per usual in Mexico) was super nice. And for fresh fish, it's not even that expensive, so honestly just give it a try as I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Exited the auto ferry and headed straight here by recommendation for the best fried fish in Isla.
Venue opened at 1, we arrived at 1:15 off the 11:30 am ferry from Punta Sam. Very limited street parking but we found a space. #Win
Family of four ordered fried fish, coconut shrimp, Caesar salad, guacamole and chips, chicken quesadilla and two margaritas for just under $1000P. The fish wasn’t the best we’ve had - we’ve had excellent in Tulum (Chimicos), Holbox and Playa but it was good. It was seasoned well. Everything is made fresh. The salad was good. The guacamole was amazing. And the quesadilla was made with love as well. The margaritas were okay. I’d give this place a solid 4. The service was top notch. Given so many other places I most likely wouldn’t return but it was a wonderful place to try and given the time, zero wait. It is about a 20 minute walk from Playa Norte.
I hope you find this review helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you.
Had dinner here on our first night in Isla Mujeres. Had a real feel of home cooked food, fresh seafood and delicious guacamole. We had the garlic & butter fish fillet and the fried coconut prawns with mango sauce. Will definitely come back!

What can I say! This restaurant was great. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was amazing, nice people. Clean and affordable prices for the entire menu. We ate guacamole, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and enchiladas suizas. The place it's located far from the regular restaurant area so you have to walk a little bit to get there. Trust me, it was all worth it. Thank you.

A real nice family restaurant, small and authentic. You get the feeling that they want you to be satisfied and not just take take your money and be gone.
We ordered a whole fish for 2, with guacamole starter and a bottle of wine. Was not expensive at all and delicious!
