I am going to pretend that mid-week at 21:15 there wasn't a raucous private party of karaoke and alcohol occurring. The restaurant did feed me at a fair price in inflationary currency Laos. And they took the time to help me select the only 'jiaow' (dipping sauce) that was vegetarian. That tomato one was bland however. The raw and cooked veggies were OK, though I think I could do better at the market selection aromatic herbs and cruciferous vegetables. 50K for a medium tomato dip, a small chili dip, a plate of veg and white rice. The wooden building itself is very nice. I will come back only with a companion who can read and translate the Lao photo menu. Still looking for a restaurant with a full selection of the many almost veg (fish or oyster sauce) jiaow. I read about them on cooking sites - pineapple, eggplant, mushroom etc. But Lao restaurants never have them in my experience Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Walked in around 3pm on a Saturday. Doors and windows all open, making the restaurant appear to be open, with 3 women sleeping on dining chairs inside. One woman sat up to greet me and just waive her hand saying no. I tried to ask if they were closed, what their hours were, but no success. Just laughing and waiving while saying no. Probably not the best place for tourists. If you're going to be closed in the middle of the day at least close the front doors so people know.
