Great airport to fly in and have a nite at the diner. The diner is really nice and has classic diner stype seating. The food was great and the service friendly. Looking forward to going back to try the shakes and malts. Recommend this place to any pikit looking for a fly-in meal.

Let us begin with this... I love history. As a veteran, I like learning about places, its history, and eating well too. This place is a classic diner with a twist. I ordered the Bomber burger, the kid wanted pancakes. We came here on a whim, seeing I wanted to eat. Being as we are not far from home, I was delighted to pop in here. I have seen and heard it mentioned, so why not. Our waitress, Kaylee, was on point and sweet as could be. Definitely worth a visit if you can.

I have never had food that was served colder. We arrived for breakfast and were excited to try out the diner. The servers were less than helpful which could have been overlooked if the food had been phenomenal. My breakfast was served straight from the kitchen and felt as though it came from the refrigerator. The fried egg could not have been colder. The butter and cheese would not even consider melting. It was actually amazing how cold everything was. The server never asked how our food was, I guess maybe she knew. We will not be back.

This is a really cool place to have some food and watch planes. Great for kids as they stay very entertained by the activities outside. The food was just alright but the staff was friendly and helpful. However, when they say they close at 2, they mean it. I would argue not to even show up if it’s 145.

If you are looking for an experience off the main drag in Fredericksburg, look no further than the Airport Diner in the Gillespie County Airport. This vintage 50's dining experience is full of charm and fun. The food is excellent, and you get great views of the runway as planes come in and out of the airport and land. Perfect for keeping the little ones entertained as you enjoy your meal. My only knock on the experience was the pie, but overall it was a wonderful place to sit and relax for a little bit to catch a bite to eat as you catch some plane action.

First time here. Located right on the runway of the FBG airport. You can watch the aircraft taking off through the many large windows. Looked like an old fashioned diner and we enjoyed that. Shakes and malts made there, which also made it have that old fashioned feel.
Servers were nice but don't expect them to greet you when you come in. Seat yourself. The food was good, not great. Meatloaf was flavorful but a little dry. Eggs were a little dry & overcooked. Onion rings looked delicious. Had a yummy flavor. But texture felt like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Waffles were good. Sausage links yummy. Loved the coffee. They were out of bacon when we got there, but saw a BLT on someone's plate and it looked thick and delicious. You'll spend $12+ on a meal. But pretty common in FBG.
We enjoyed being at the airport. Keep your expectations simple and you'll be just fine. All in all, we enjoyed our meals and the airport ambiance.

Maybe because I'm from the East Coast and diners have been a staple of my life, The diner was okay, just okay nothing to write home about. Food was fine, not it not great just fine. If you're staying at the hotel it's an okay option, also funny that it doesn't open until 8:00 a.m.

Food was awful. It arrived to my table cold and flavorless. How do you mess up eggs? Anyway, my server was equally terrible. Never refilled my drink and never asked how my meal was. Terrible experience. The location is unique and very tastefully done but the bad food and poor service make this restaurant a place to avoid in the future. Save your 40 bucks for eggs and go somewhere else.

Very nice diner on the runway of an airport. An experience you will not forget. The food is decent too. Nothing that will change your life. It's comfort food. you get exactly what you think you are getting. Enjoyable with great conversation. Pilots and passengers get off there little airplanes and come into eat.. There is also a hotel, conference room, and venue area.
