Having seen Madison Art Center, it's time to have a rest at this restaurant. Serving perfectly cooked grilled cheese, sweet fries and bison burgers is the feature of Alchemy. Been here a handful of times and never disappointed. Had not had the clam chowder before. Maybe the best I’ve had anywhere in the country with all due respect to all the Baltimore/East coast and west coasters. Obviously always comes down to choice but really nice balance of viscosity and flavor without being so creamy all it becomes is cream soup with potatoes and chunks of clams. I almost cancelled the fish and just got more soup…lake perch was a little undercooked but I knew I should’ve said ‘well done’ cuz they were busy, but didnt. Call that my fault. Fish was solid, clean and flavorful and not greasy or over breaded. Perfect level of batter, they just got antsy. We headed up to Madison for a quick little date night and stopped in here for dinner. Loved the atmosphere, chill and relaxing. The bartender, was great and friendly. We had the jam margarita which was good. Started with the wings. The sauce was amazing. I wasn't a fan of the cheese on them but my wife loved it. Still worth trying for sure Our entrees were good and the special soup of the night was great. Highly recommend.
