It's a nice place to hang out and have a drink or two. They've recently opened the kitchen which is a plus too. The only downside is that they tey to maintain an older orderly crowd but many nights the younger rowdy crowd from the bar across the street spills over and then the night turns for the worst but the owners seem to be doing there best to maintain order.
This bar is supposed to be for the mature crowd (50 + ). It was formerly owned by a retired bus driver who invited me there. I went and had a wonderful time! I no longer had to beg someone to go with me to Philips.p.a to help keep me awake or get a hotel room. I am also confined to a wheelchair since 2005. Since the accident, doctor's could find no damage to my back . I was unable to walk, but I could dance and rest. I still can't walk more than 15 feet. I went again around 2010 and was met at the door and told I could not bring my wheelchair inside. I was very upset and I didn't go back there again! Until last night. I was met at the door and asked to pay a cover of $5. What? A cover to cover what? I told the door guy that I need to go inside to get my money! He looked at me as if I had lost my mind! I really needed to dance like I did in the 60 70 80. I was going through! I just want in and I had put my money in my bra, just in case. I had to lean against the wall because I had to park over a block away on a dark side street. The roadway had been salted for the impending snow.i kept telling him that I had the money and I was going to give it to him. When I was able to get it, he waved me in. I was insulted that he thought I didn't have $5, but again I needed to go back in time so I went in. I needed to sit so I went to the closes empty bar stool asked if anyone was sitting there . The barmaid said it was her seat and I couldn't sit there. I tried to explain to her that I needed to sit now! See said I don't care that's my seat. I sat down and tried to get my breath. Long story short! It was a horrible experience. I am going there today and find out who owns this place now and deal with them.
Hole in the wall spot. Everyone that goes there knows each other so if you dont, you can feel the ackwardness. The place can get packed to the point where its hot and hard to walk around without squeezing past everyone. Its a local hood spot that has its appeal. If its not your thing, pick another spot. But if u dont mind... go check it out!
