This cafe is right on the water with sitting inside and outside. Someone suggested I try their Pastel da Nata. And I can tell you that it was indeed one of the best I have ever had.
The pastry was nice and crisp, almost like a very good croissant, very flaky. The custard was just right with almost perfect sweetness.
If you are traveling on Portugal coast and happen to be around Aveiro area, you must visit this small cafe.
I also asked for cafe com leite to be extra hot and it was indeed that. Most places it is like warm, so if you ask for they will make it.
The breeze is nice and cool and the cafe is awesome. Overall 5 star.
The total cost Coffee/latte and two pastries, €3.90.....Coffee in my hometown in Seattle cost almost $6

One of the best places to eat a "pastel de nata" and drink a coffee, both hot. Always fresh and the view is great. Absolutely amazing!

The pasteis de nata are awesome. They are warm and very tasty! Besides, the attention was great, they’re nice people and do their best to understand you even if you don’t speak Portuguese. Very recommended!
A nice little cafe. Friendly staff. One of those traditional Portuguese cafes that you will see in every village and town across Portugal. Order a cafe + pastel de nata, sit outside in the sun and enjoy the scenery. Also a good place to have a chat with others, get to know locals. Prices are good, very comparable with other semi-touristic places.
Very nice pastel nata and also a very nice selection of home made ice cream. It's a must stop when in Costa Nova.

We were taken to this cafe/gelataria by a local who said they had the best pasteis de nata in the area. We weren't disappointed -- the pastry was so flaky and the custard soft and creamy. A nice riverside cafe to while away an hour with friends over coffee or beers (depending on the weather). Not touristy at all; frequented mostly by locals, at least on the day I was there. Could be different at weekends. Service was speedy and friendly.
Good icecream but they can't guarantee their sorbet ice is not contaminated with milk or nuts from the other ice. So beware with allergies
