Friendly staff.
However, i wasn't impressed by the pork dinner with coleslaw and potato salad. The pickles screwed up the taste of the coleslaw.
Potato salad is mushy and runny.
Would have preferred buttered toast to the bread thrown in with the dinner. Expected fountain coke but it was canned coke. Cajun fries were decent and definitely spicy.
Maybe this is how bbq places are here, but im used to more smoky flavor and bbq taste.
They were out of ribs, out of pecan pie, we settled on a pork dinner. It was pulled pork, covered in too much sauce and not one I would have chosen (too much tomato, lacked any flavor). It was more like a pulled pork sloppy joe mix. A bite of the pork was big enough taste by itself, pretty dry.
Nothing unique about the beans or the potato salad, didn't finish. M'eh.
Loved it! We had Ribs, chicken, pulled pork, Brunswick Stew, sweet tea and the pecan pie. All great. Took some BBQ Sauce, tea and Pies to go. Great service and great food. Well worth the detour from the Interstate.
Was not impressed. I had the sausage dog and potato salad with a sweet tea. The tea was a lil off and the sausage tasted a bit weird. It had a lil taste of mold. Potato salad was good. Only thing I could handle eating. I had higher hopes and was disappointed.
The Rib Dinner + Sweet Tea
The picture, is far better than the flavor....
Iced Tea:
Overly sweet, instant mix type flavor.
Ribs:
Although quite tender, tasted like they were baked in an oven, devoid of any smoke flavor, whatsoever.
Cole Slaw:
Fresh and tasty.
Baked Beans:
Fresh out of a can....very unremarkable.
Cash only, NO CARDS ACCEPTED....
Would I return?
No.
Best little bbq shack around!
It does take little time to get your food. But we expect that and don’t mind waiting, it’s worth it. If a wait bothers you, just call ahead and by the time you get there it’ll be ready!
Pulled pork+ pulled chicken sandwiches, Cajun fries, baked beans, okra + Sweet Tea are awesome. Food that just warms the soul.
The food was looked old, and taste disgusting to me. The okra was soggy and they have a sign that says made to order. The drinks were watered down. Nothing that came out of there was pleasant to my pallette.
Was not impressed at all the Brunswick stew was not hot and was very plain tasting. Order the pulled pork sandwhich it tasted frozen not fresh smoked at all. On top of that was charged almost 30 dollars but when adding all the items i order turned out the lady charged me 15 dollars over. When bringing it to he attention she gave an complete horrible attitude. Only nice thing about the place was the old guy having lunch talking to us. Will not return nor recommend to anyone goung through Valdosta.
Great customer service and food to match. I love it and the women there just makes it better. Don't let me get started on their sauce. SOUTHERN BAR-B-Q AT IT'S BEST.
Also, great price.
