In case the rain took you by surprise during the promenade around Padre Sa Pereira Stadium, stop by this restaurant. Portuguese cuisine is served at Barba Azul. In accordance with the guests' opinions, a sea bass is good. A number of reviewers find that you can eat nicely cooked cheesecakes here. It's nice to try delicious wine. The accommodating staff demonstrates a high level of hospitality at this place. The professional service is something these restaurateurs care about. The homey atmosphere gladdens people and attracts more clients. Google users awarded this spot 4.5.

A great restaurant attached to the bus station, very busy when we went on the Sunday lunch time, managed to fit us in. Staff very friendly and spoke good English, recommended some dishes. We had the fresh salted prawns to start, with bread, lovely butter made locally also pate, then pork chops, with a bean, veggie, rice dishes very tasty and a bottle of wine. A little bit expensive when your on a budget, but well worth it. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €25–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
A wonderful Portuguese lunch. Great Amêijoas a Bulao Pato. Great Host/Owner, & his wife makes the desserts! Loved it and will be back. My friend wanted to stay on for dinner for octopus, the lunch was so good! We will be back Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €20–25 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Pork Chops Rice Veg Dish

The restaurant was fully booked but the manager found a table for us in the bus station attached to the restaurant. Started with fried sardines, fresh bread and beer then shared a half portion of octopus and veggies. Followed by cheesecake and chocolate mousse. Local, delicious food!! Staff were amazing and the atmosphere was enchanting. One of our top 3 meals in Portugal! Dinning with @opentoabundance. Meal type Dinner
Genuine Portuguese Top 🔝 seafood!!! Recommend reservations
We had a very strange experience. The hosts did not want us to sit in the restaurant, but at a table in the bus station!! Really weird, considering there were tables available in the restaurant. The restaurant came recommended, so this poor service was a surprise.

We saw this place on Maps! And we decided to go for a walk as the place that was recommended to us by our hostel host was closed. Were we ever glad we did! The owner(?) speaks English. He recommended us a white wine which was incredibly good, very drinkable. He also recommended the sea bass, which was fresh, grilled to perfection. He also disassembled it for us. The vegetables were cooked beautifully. Enormous fluffy potatoes, sweet carrots, tender cabbage. The dessert was indescribably good. Anything made by the owner's wife is a go. We started with the mousse, and then got the cheesecake. No regrets!
For a late night bus departure, reservation is necessary. Although tables were available, we were turned away without a reservation. We were told that at night they do not serve food (drinks only) on the bus station side of restaurant. Meal type Dinner

not the most obvious location! at the bus station and not exactly picturesque, but worth finding. the menu has less expensive options and then goes up to pretty expensive ( for Portugal anyway) nonetheless we succumbed to dish of the day, a huge sea bass. it was worth it. even at 38 euros for 2 of us! it would have fed 3 or 4. beautifully cooked. we'r had wine recommended by the owner at 9 euros a bottle. house dessert and coffee. be aware the cover charges for bread, butter and pate. 3.50 euros if you want it all. again a common thing in Portugal very attentive and friendly service, good English spoken. nice and clean. I would go again (and probably try the cheaper menu options!)
We had a very good sea bass with vegetables. We were served in a really personal and friendly manner and had a feeling more like being private guests than in a restaurant. Homemade Portuguese dessert was really fantastic!
We were told about this restaurant and can truly say it was well worth the visit. The food was very fresh and tasty. Our host did his best to explain the dishes and even brought out the fish to show us which fish we would be eating. Will definitely highly recommend this restaurant.
