We’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints. Last nights Valentine’s Day menu was absolutely amazing. I’ve included a couple photos of my appetizer and entree. We just fell in love!! Everything was lovely...we sat at the bar and Olivia could not have been a better bartender and guide. The octopus starter was fantastic and the seafood pasta was perfectly spicy and delectable ...chocolate torte perfection. As weekly regulars since Barbaro opened, we have always enjoyed coming here. it’s a gathering place for friends and locals, and the staff has always been incredibly warm and welcoming. they’ve had the growing pains in the past… but I can say the restaurant is now well-managed, The staff are incredibly friendly and kind and attentive and the food is consistently great. My friend and I have been coming to Barbaro every time we’re nearby visiting the historic homes in Hyde Park. Service is excellent and they were able to accommodate all of my friend’s dietary preferences. It is one of the only restaurants that we feel comfortable eating inside since there is a table in the back that is quite distanced from all of the other diners. I was fortunate enough to visit on Chicken Parmigian night. Chicken was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. Portion was generous and I was able to make two meals out of it. On the other occasions that I visited here I got a fish special and the burrata ravioli. The skin of the ravioli was super fresh. The filling was smooth and flavorful. The oil carried the basil flavors well. The cocktails here were above average. The coffee blvd was the most unique one. It is a twist on a traditional Negroni cocktail. The addition of some coffee infused Campari combined with the herbal notes of the vermouth made a unique bitter flavor that I found to be more appetizing than that of a traditional Negroni. Mr. Brightside was an excellent choice for a summer night. The elderflower and citrus combination was quite refreshing and went well with the fish special. Witchmaker was a light version of a whiskey sour with some ginger. It’s good for someone who wants to start on whiskey cocktails since the whiskey was lighter compared to others I’ve had. The dessert I gravitate towards is the coconut sorbet. It was packed with coconut flavor and had a smooth texture with a few bits of shaved coconut folded in. All I can say is “Wow”! This restaurant has got to be one of the best the area - hands down! Our evening was absolutely perfect in every respect. The octopus was tender and flavorful, as was the BLT Caesar salad. The Branzino special was fresh cooked to perfection. Steak was divine. The seafood risotto special with saffron was special indeed, packed with flavor. And the desserts were some of the best ever . The cheesecake was fluffy and the tiramisu could have easily come right from Italy! Our waiter was attentive, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I have not had such a perfect dining experience in a while would highly recommend Barbaro to anyone looking for a delicious meal - special occasion or not! We arrived with reservations at 5 pm. We asked for bread and was told there is no complimentary bread but we can get rosemary oven roasted bread for $18.00. Lacked flavor and was like a cracker as it would not even soak up the oil. People came after us and received their meals a good 25 minutes before we got our meal which was served a good hour and five minutes after we arrived. We have been here several times before but not sure if or when we will return. Sat outside on a chilly night warmed by those lovely gas-heaters like giant candles. We split an amazing kale salad and a wood-oven pizza. Perfect! I love this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was our first time at this restaurant. My daughter wanted to go for her birthday. There are a few stairs to get in which we had to help Mom with. We were seated immediately. Dress was casual. We were seated at a wooden table which was a bit sticky. They gave us a pitcher of room temperature water to start. No bread was offered. We had an asparagus appetizer which was very good. Our food took about 45 minutes and no one came to check on us at all during this time. Food finally came and was excellent. The atmosphere was very loud and the lighting was so dim you needed your phone to see the menu. I would try one more time maybe when the weather gets warmer at the outside seating.
