Had a chance to try Basil during restaurant week 2024. Starting with the fried wontons (not pictured I forgot to grab a picture before I devoured them) very nice, different in taste because they’re not crab but not different in a bad way. Good portion app with about 8-10 served in it. The Pad Thai and Pad See Eu were both great dishes and very flavorful. With good portion sizes. I had the Pad Thai medium and felt as if it could’ve easily been a mild so the server was gracefully able to provide additional spice (garlic chili paste) so feel on the safe side ordering knowing the spice level will not be overbearing. For dessert I had the Raspberry Cheesecake which was amazingly light and soft, not dense at all it was a dream to finish the meal with. The mixed drink was the Creamy Lemon Cake which was very delicious and almost felt like a dessert in of itself. It had an actual lemon cake aftertaste with little to no alcohol taste during or after the drink. Our server was incredibly kind, happy to serve, and had a bubbly welcoming personality. The atmosphere was elegant and upscale. The service was warm and inviting. Our waitress was attentive to us during dinner. For our appetizer, we ate the stuff shrimp which were really delicious. Unfortunately, dinner was not a "wow". I ate Basil Shrimp and I felt like the shrimp were not fresh caught. Considering their location, I would expect fresh local shrimp. I did love the fact that they offered brown rice as an option. Hubby ate the Basil Beef. He enjoyed it; however, he did request Thai Hot and felt that the heat level was not hot or in comparison to other Thai restaurants. This was our 1st dining experience at the PC location. I enjoyed my experience. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was different and tasty. I was disappointed that the hours of operations are short. The bathroom was clean. It was a beautiful experience. I encourage you to visit and see Jah (I think that is the correct spelling). If not, I apologize in advance. We happened to bump into this place as we were walking around this cool neighborhood. The ambience is just classic and when u see it, you feel like going in. The food is equally amazing and the Tom Kha soup was simply the best. We ended our dinner with fried ice cream:)

It’s a popular spot so if you decide to come, do so at your earliest convenience! The alcoholic beverages were great! I love it when the alcohol is subtle and not overwhelming. The wontons as appetizers were delicious. The chicken Masaman curry was absolutely incredible!! The heat level was mild and rightfully so! Yasmine our server was amazing her warm smile to greet us , her attention on the table was to the point whether its bring cold glass for beer , refilling my wife’s drink!! And not to forget she had tables outside as well But the best part was i wanted to have basil chk fried rice and she even didn't hesitate and was so welcoming to accommodate my request and kudos to kitchen team for making it!! Basil Thai elevates Charleston's already top notch Restaurant reputation even higher. 1st, the bar is nice but not overwhelming. Good presentation and stiff enough. Food is where this place takes flight. Scrumptious variety of Pad Thai. Gluten Free. Spicy if you request spicy. Currys are aromatic. Highly recommended.

The food was okay but the service was even better. The location is great and the atmosphere was great. Pad Thai is what I ordered. Everything was good, food was nice service was great and atmosphere was great also. But there is a art of one of Hinduism God name Ram and Hanuman which I found place outside the restroom. Placing a god portrait is disrespectful and a disgusting thing to do. I told the owner to remove that art peace from near the restroom and place it anywhere near the entrance or dining area so, but owner said we will do it soon. I was like you should do it right now! It was disrespectful and I was really heartbroken by the shameful act they did. A god portrait or image shouldn’t be near restroom, it should be placed anywhere in a clean and safe place. No matter what religion it is all religion and culture should be respected, and that is what I not found here. Sorry but I felt disgusted. I had attached the image of God Hanuman and Ram so you can also verify on google. It’s a Thai art of god Hanuman and Ram.
