Beggars Pizza truly impressed me with their diverse menu and exceptional flavors. The Greek salad was a refreshing start, featuring crisp veggies and a tangy dressing. The Italian beef was a savory delight, with tender meat and just the right amount of spices. However, the star of the show was the deep-dish pizza – a perfect harmony of a golden crust, rich tomato sauce, and gooey cheese. The generous toppings added to the overall indulgence. The service was prompt and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. Beggars Pizza has earned my recommendation for those seeking a delicious and satisfying meal. Came here during lunch. Plenty and able to accommodate large parties . Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. You have to order at the counter up front before going in to eat. I'm an OTR Trucker & I normally like to sit down and take my time reading the menu when eating inside a sit down restaurant. Having to order at the counter before going in made me feel rushed. I wanted the lasagna but they were out so I ordered the boneless wings. I had the buffalo and sweet red chili. The wings were brought out fast and were good. I only gave 3 stars because I felt rushed having to order up front instead of being able to go in, sit down, and take my time looking at the menu before ordering. If it’s Good Pizza 🍕 you’re looking for look no further than Beggars pizza. As a Chicagoan I have enjoyed this pizza for years and now my children enjoy it as well. If you are visiting I can guarantee you Beggars Pizza will stand against any pizza Chicago has to offer and exceed your expectations of what Chicago pizza actually is. Don yak my word for it, try it your self. Oh and P.S. we barley eat deep dish but beggars lays it on thick so it kind gives you the feeling you may have jut orders deep dish but you didn’t “that’s just what thy do”! This is the first time I was inside this establishment. It smells like a musty old basement. The only area that smelled okay was in the bathroom, which smelled of bleach. I came in for lunch, they do say that it could take up to 30 minutes for your food, I felt like my lunch portion of a think crust pizza took too long to come out. I did order extra sauce, but they put extra extra sauce, which was too much sauce, and that took away from the taste of the pizza as a whole. The staff were friendly. I recently revisited Beggars Pizza after a four-year hiatus, joining my parents for dinner. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The atmosphere, while traditionally Beggars Pizza with its homey Italiano vibe and lineage-inspired photo portraits, was marred by a lack of warmth—both in temperature and hospitality. Upon entering, the employee at the order entry seemed disinterested and struggled with the touch pad when taking our order. It wasn't a reflection of his intelligence, but rather a noticeable lack of enthusiasm and competence. This became evident when the pizza we ordered arrived with a design flaw, signaling a breakdown in the ordering process. The restaurant's size and potential for a pleasant dine-in experience made the chilly atmosphere all the more perplexing. The discomfort of waiting in a cold environment overshadowed the anticipation of the meal, leaving a sour taste in my mouth. For a place with a reputation like Beggars Pizza, the disconnect between ambiance, service, and temperature was unexpected and disappointing. While the traditional decor and familial ambiance were nostalgic, the lack of attention to detail and the cold environment detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable dining experience. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident, and Beggars Pizza can address these issues to provide a more inviting and satisfying experience for its patrons.
