Haven't eaten here for awhile and came in for lunch with both my husband's and my parents and it was just as fresh and delicious as I remembered. I LOVE this restaurant, the food is delicious with lots of dairy free and gluten free options, the front of the house clearly loves this restaurant and make sure your time there is comfortable and amazing. Went to Birdhouse for the first time yesterday. We had a strange interaction with a server who came to our table to ask us if we were with the XX party. The greeter had JUST sat us at our table. We said no and he said "This table belongs to them". We were surprised and offered to move to the next table. We did not choose the table on our own and didn't mind moving. He said, "Okay, no worries we'll move the people who have a reservation". We did not feel welcome at this restaurant. It seems like if he didn't want to us to move and it was no big deal he should have just asked if we were with XX party and then let it go at that. If the food wasn't so good, I would have given 1 star. We made a Valentine's Day reservation 3 weeks ahead of time. We have eaten at every place near our house too many times so we thought we would find a place further out that looked great! We came across this place and the pictures do it TOO much justice. It's about 35 minutes from our house, but we were SO excited. We got there and the hostess was rude and definitely shouldn't be the first face or attitude for a business. We let her know we had a reservation and waited while they "prepared our table". She walked us back to the VERY BACK CORNER of the building. I'm talking a table shouldn't even be placed back here corner behind the bar. It was so dark I needed my phone to read the menu. It was right next to the side exit door so it was also freezing. At one point our server even said to us, "Sorry guys, I'm not gonna lie, I forgot you were back here." Don't get me wrong, she was kind, but she even forgot that table existed. The food was delicious! Thank goodness. We left feeling totally let down on Valentine's Day. Then, I get a slap on the wrist email from Open Table shaming me for not showing up for my reservation. So, apparently even the hostess forgot we existed. Such a shame and definitely will not be back or recommend. It was Valentine's Day y'all. Make people feel special for goodness sake. Lastly, don't advertise that you have a business casual dress code when you have workers in jeans and flannels. Birdhouse sets the bar for ramen, with amazing GF options! But they also dish out tacos, salads and incredible queso that can't be missed! The Carolina Hot tacos are perfectly crisped and flavorful. I recently tried the Cuna salad - it was as delicious as it was lovely. Sometimes it can be crowded or noisy on weekends, so try a weeknight for a faster, more mellow dinner out.
