The ambiance is incredible. A beautiful way to start your week if you don't over drink. Food is impeccable. It's very cheap, delicious as well.
Had a great time but at the end there was a little misunderstanding. My friends and I had forgotten to tip the waiter(steyaan, if im not mistaken. Excuse the spelling if it's not like that.) Afternoon paying the bill we forgot to tip the waiter and he got upset at us. "i usually charge 10% for this type of bill, this is not acceptable". He then proceeded to storm off with the last glass on the table. We felt guilty that we didn't tip him and felt very uncomfortable leaving the place because of the manner in which he stormed off.
That was the only incident, but besides that, it was all fun
Great atmosphere, waiters are attentive even the Barmen, I'll highly recommend. Their pizzas are also good especially the Chicken pizza

This place left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I like to tip everytime I go out as it is the right thing to do, as people in the industry are relying on the extra money. But what I didn't like was that our waiter not only refused to give me the correct change, but preasured me to tip.
If he had given me the change back correctly and without pressurerung me, I would have tipped him the same amount.

This place is not my favorite, but it does have its own unique feeling and aesthetic. I can see why so many people love it.
I'm writing this review because I think my drink was spiked by someone at the bar on Tuesday evening, between 10 and 11. I was sitting with a group of 6, against the wall on the right, oposite the downstairs bar. I had only 2 drinks that whole night, but I was falling over my feet and slurring my speech. I don't know how I managed to get home safely. I missed two days of work because of the hangover, from two drinks!?
Definitely not normal for me. I also went from sober to extremely drunk in the space of 20 to 30 minutes, and I have no memory of the ride home. When I got home woth my GF, she said I was extremely pale and my lips were blueing.
I'll remove this review once Bohemia replies to it. I just wanted to bring it to your attention, I realize it is not necessarily something you could have prevented, but I do think you should look into it. I'm not saying it was necessarily a staff member, but all the drinks were bought from the downstairs bar.

They serve really good food, and have hourly drinks specials. The stairs leading up to the second floor desperately need to be redesigned though. They are so steep and slippery. I have started to sit at the table next to the stairs, just to watch people falling down the stairs at this point. Entertaining but so rough.

Great Pizza
This place has such an awesome vibe. The look and feel are super unique, from the wall art to the layout. The service is really fantastic as well and you can tell that the people there actually care. This is definitely a must visit when coming to Stellenbosch.
