We absolutely loved the experience at Bolaven Bistro near Paksong on the Bolaven loop. Johann, the owner, and his wife Nang showcased exceptional cooking skills. In fact after finding this place we were going back every day! The food quality was outstanding, with everything freshly made. The simple but cozy ambiance made it a perfect place to unwind. Good food, extremely nice people what else do you need ?! We went there in the evening just to chill and we are glad we had really good food and nice conversation with Yohan the owner. Really nice hidden place on the Bolaven loop. The German owner is very friendly and has some funny stories about Laos. The food is super fresh and delicious. Excellent. Great food and service. Very pleasant setting. Had penne arrabiata and hommous with bread, with some red wine (good enough for the price of 250,000 kip per bottle). Owner is French so food is good. Can leave motorbike here and walk to nearby waterfall. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The freshest, homemade, locally sourced food. Great for breakfast/brunch and had some wonderful pastas. We also tried a lovely cocktail. The owner gave us a free passionfruit grown from his garden that was delicious. We also had some very nice chats and recommendations from the owner. One of the most welcoming/helpful people ever. The food is delicious, tried the guacamole (finally had some after 4 months on the road), and the pastas on offer are excellent,but that's just the start. The service here is tremendous, Herr Johann is friendly and will offer you some amazing insight into life as a foreigner in Laos. We had a great time chatting with him, we learned so much. We arrived and ate, we had dinner and we had breakfast. The restaurant is a beautiful German-Laosian family. The food is very good and homemade with love, everything is very clean and the treatment is great. Johan, the owner, invited us to take wine and helped us find accommodation at the last minute. He also advised us on the best waterfalls. They are very nice and friendly with us at all times. We will definitely come back again.
