Hands down the best bakery in the ENTIRE WORLD and if you can’t get behind that it’s definitely the best bakery in the greater Boston area (even featured in The Boston Globe). I have had almost everything thing this bakery has to offer and I can confidently, whole-heartedly, swear that they can do not wrong (there was this one pastry I didn’t like but it had to be a me problem). The owner has perfected the art of flakiness and any croissant like pastry will leave trail of happiness and crumbs. The staff is incredible as well, true gems. Each visit of mine consists of warm greetings and endearing smiles as they fill my bag with delightful treats, sometime I even get an extra morning bun. My favorite is the everything croissant, an explanation will do no justice you’ll just have to try it yourself and you’ll want to get there early before they sell out. Another favorite of mine are the unique cardamom swirls. I bet you’ve never heard of such a thing. Again you’ll just have to go try it. In the afternoon they serve pizza with brilliant (vegetarian friendly) topping combinations and fabulous flavor. Furthermore, I the bakery is women owned, queer owned, LGBTQIA+ plus friendly, and is more welcoming than Starbucks and Tatte adjacent places. I can not speak highly enough of this bakery and if you’ve been searching for something new look no further. The worst thing, I’ve experience are the rude customers that come in at near closing and expect extra efforts from an already amazing hardworking early rising staff. Please go and support. They deserve it and you deserve a treat. Service Take out Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Bakery Pastries
One of my absolute favorite places! Every pastry I've tried here is incredible. Grab a morning bun or a cretzel (that's a croissant pretzel and it's amazing) and an iced latte. Or an almond cornmeal cake, or a slice of pizza. It's all delicious!

Checked out Butternut Bakehouse at opening to avoid the line and secure the goods before anything could sell out. There is plenty of street parking and a few small tables inside but not ideal for large groups. I got the popular morning bun, the chocolate caramel latte croissant, which was a special for the day, and a jam bun, which was peach flavored this time. The morning bun had an interesting chewy bite to it, which I really liked. It was also the perfect amount of sweetness. The chocolate caramel latte croissant was my favorite of the three. It had a strong coffee flavor and was very flaky. The jam bun was just okay--it didn't have a lot of peach filling, so I mostly just tasted the outer pastry. This place is a bit of a drive, so I wish I had gotten more, but this just means that I'll be back! Service Take out Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I admit I’ve been avoiding this place. Everything looked so tempting and yet so fattening… Finally broke down today and every blissful bite was worth it. As I bit into the Morning Bun I was hit by a wave of nostalgia. It reminded me of a forgotten beloved baked good from long ago. But it was so much better. Sugary, but not cloyingly sweet, and somehow crispy, soft and chewy all at once. The cardamom swirl is also delicious. Can’t wait to try everything. I’ll just have increase my step count.

I was very much looking forward to try another local bakery. Food: butter croissant and almond croissant 7/10. Good but not amazing. Price: In my opinion, these croissants are overpriced at $5.15 almond croissant and $4.25 butter croissant. More expensive than other bakeries I've been to in the area and the most expensive ones we've ever bought (US, Europe, asia). Service: 3/10 "hi, what do you want, bye." Unfortunately, we will not return and unable to recommend.
Absolutely delicious! Pastries are significantly less sweet than many other bakeries (in a good way), so the actual flavors cocoa, butter, sesame, lavender... shine through instead of relying on sugar to carry a less-than-delicious treat. The cost is exorbitant to start, but after tax and an 'admin fee' your paying about 20% above the posted price. The space inside is very limited, it's definitely better for takeaway. If you are able to find a seat, both the entrance and exit are within feet of where you'll be sitting, so it gets pretty cold with customers coming and going. Great bakery with a variety selection of freshly baked goods. I had the sugary cinnamon bun and it did not disappoint. Make sure to sign up for a gym after you visit this one cuz you’ll be coming back.
This is my first time in and I am blown away!! Best pastries around. I had the morning bun and gosh was it delicious! Great drink choices, good atmosphere, and service. Will 100% be back soon! I stopped in to the Belmont location and picked up some morning buns and almond croissants yesterday. A friend had told me that the morning buns were amazing so I bought some as well as some almond croissants. The morning bun was amazing! The almond croissant, just as amazing! Decadent pastries and delicious capuccino, friendly staff, lovely space filled with natural light, plants, and art. Nice ecologically conscious touches like biodegradable cups for to-go drinks and reusable water cups. Inclusive, clean and bright all-gender restrooms. One of the nices touches is that prices include a 12% Arlington location and Belmont is much bigger with way more seating. A must try! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
