What a hidden gem, although they were busy, the service was very good and the food was incredible. Great brisket, mac and cheese, pulled pork and the BEANS were delicious. The sign was so faded it was hard to find, but it shares the same building as The Peppermill. But don't let the sign fool you, this is great BBQ! We had the brisket sandwich and it was very tasty! The honey BBQ sauce was the best. Didn't care for the Memphis sauce, and didn't get to try the spicy sauce. Also had the chicken tenders and they were excellent also. Fries were hot and crispy. Finished with a brownie and vanilla ice cream and wow that was good! Couldn't finish it all. Savannah was our waitress and she was awesome! So friendly and helpful, and kept our drinks filled. We were on our way to Tetons from Nebraska and decided to stop in Rawlins for dinner. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees and portion sizes were very generous. Side dishes were very good as well. I'd give a special shout-out to the sweet potato waffle fries and the snake bites, which I would highly recommend. They also had a hefeweizen on tap which was full bodied with great flavor. Overall good atmosphere, wonderful servers and great food, would definitely go again if passing through. The first clue we shouldn’t have stayed was the old couple that walked out without being served as we walked in. Of the three people we saw working, only 1 had a fire under her. Our waitress was not her. Service took forever despite only 6 tables seated.. when the food finally came to the table it was overcooked and undercooked at the same time. Fried foods were undercooked and still frozen in the middle, steak was overcooked, and a club sandwich with a piece of burned toast hidden in the middle. Bathrooms were disgusting. Wait staff doesn’t care. Cook hates their job. Just don’t. Go somewhere else. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Breakfast burrito was disappointing. I got it smothered in green chili sauce but it was still extremely dry. You can definitely tell that the sauce was from the can. The three different meats had no flavor, some of the hash browns had burned pieces. The pancake choice would be the best for your buck. We were traveling through, and looking for a good home style meal. The food was acceptable. My wife enjoyed her burger, and the chicken fried steak seemed like it was done in-house. But it was lacking flavor. Needed more salt and seasoning. But the place has seen better days. The toilet seat in the men's room should have been replaced 20+ years ago. I had heard of this place about a year ago while visiting family and unfortunately I hadn't been able to stop there because it wasn't open when I went through town (too early in the morning). When I was in the area a few weeks ago, I was finally able to visit the restaurant. Rarely do I encounter a restaurant like Cactus Jacks. Being a smaller bar and grill as it is and in a smaller town, there are only two waitresses, at least that I ever saw, during my three visits there. The waitress, Kandi, was a master at managing the dining room on her own, even during the morning rush when it was just person after person. She was attentive and kind, despite being a bit stressed due to being the only waitress there. The other waitress, Myriah, was equally amazing. She was managing both the restaurant and bar side of the place at the same time and despite literally being in two places at once, she was attentive and kind as one would hope their waitress would be, again, despite the circumstances. It was also amazing to see how both waitresses were able to remember frequent visitors and would often chat with those that came in quite often and became regulars. The food was equally amazing and the pricing was amazing. The brisket was juicy and smothered in sauce, the fries were crispy, the potato salad had a perfect mix of sauce, the beans were zesty, and the breakfast platter was fit for a lumberjack (or a mountain man). We would not go back here again. Food served cold and tasteless. Please read full review to find out why. Too many doors to enter that are not marked. You don’t know if you are entering the restaurant or bar area. If you enter the restaurant area, like we did the doors going to the bar are not marked. We did figure it out though. We both ordered the beef brisket sandwich and our sides were house, salad and baked beans. Side were good but Both of our brisket sandwich’s were served to us almost cold barely heated up and not much flavor. Apparently there’s a choice of sauce on the brisket sandwich, but we did not get that choice because the bartender taking our order knew you could pick a sauce , but did not know what sauces were available.They had two bartenders working, but not a super busy place we were there between 7&9pm on a Saturday night. One thing is to be aware when looking for this place, Cactus Jack is not in the sign. It says Peppermill bar and grill. We had the pulled pork. I had the cole slaw. It was just ok, not much flavor.
