Healthy eating at its finest. I had the basil pesto chicken with garlic mash potatoes and spinach. Spinach was simple, juicy, and delicious. Mash potatoes was excellent, and the chicken was moist and cooked to perfection. Best part about this place is the restaurant ambiance. We need one in Forney TX. Found a Cafe Express to get one of my favorite salads. Ah oh, they ruined it with shrimp sauce. Correction: tasted like marinara. Nasty. I spoke with the manager and she offered to bring me more shrimp or a new salad. I am not wasting food. Will not be back to this location anytime soon. Cafe Express Woodlands on College Park Drive. We made the decision to dine in here after looking around the area for something reasonably priced and that would satisfy our (my family and I) appetite. I had a half, chicken pesto sandwich and a half, Greek salad. The food was wonderful. Fresh ingredients, incredible flavors. I had a couple of bites of mac n cheese. It was easily the best I've had out of any other dine in/fast food establishment. Furthermore, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was spot on. My husband picked up a too go order, he brought me the grilled chicken pesto with mashed potatoes and the greens. Oh my goodness. Im at a loss for words never ever have I had a meal so flavorful. I mean my goodness. Delicious, the sauce on the chicken. Perfection. Seriously 10/10 I usually am a chicken fried steak kinda girl. But I tell you what that grill chicken was incredible. Cooked to perfection and so rich in flavour. And the potatoes wow just wow! Not to mention even their tea was delicious. It was our first time ordered for lunch. We liked it so much that I sent him back for dinner hours later. For sure would recommend to everyone!! My husband was happy too cause he said even their pricing was good!! Came in right before closing and they were so helpful and fast with getting me my order. The cafe is so so cute and clean inside! I loved the aesthetic. And the food was absolutely amazing! I love!!! The mix and match is so clever. The salads were delicious, and so were the soups and sandwiches. We also got the pesto linguine, which was really good. The chicken salad sandwich was decent. The garlic bread could’ve been better. I like how there is still roasted garlic and some iconic breadsticks available. Highly recommend! I love this restaurant! I have been waiting for a new Cafe Express to open near me since they closed the one in Market Street years ago. However, the service now is TERRIBLE!! The person who took my order was not at the front when I arrived and we had to wait for them to come from the back. Once she did arrive, she was slow and not familiar with the menu. There were 3 of us in my party and we were asked to use the same order number, which is fine, BUT that should mean we receive our food at the same time. This did not happen. They delivered the food at 3 separate intervals and never asked if we needed anything or if everything was made to order. I feel this restaurant is in dire need of new management or more training of their employees. Customer service should be just as important as the quality of food and their food is too delicious to have lackluster service!
