Waited a while for the staff to put a cake in a takeaway container. Walked to office sat down and they had given me the wrong order, went back and they swapped it out for the correct purchase. Consistently good food for a good price. Kerikeri is shocking to find good food, good coffee for a good price however the team at Zest do a great job. Also there's a classic breakfast option that dosent have eggs! For someone who dosent eat eggs, it's always a hassle finding places that can cater for this. Coming to Zest means I can order Breakfast and not have to ask 'without eggs' or swap them out. It's just nice to see. The waffles are huge too! Portions are great. A 1/2 breakfast is heaps. But what set it apart for us... The young fulla who works there.. My partner heard him say to one of his female colleagues '' you can go serve up the front if you'd life, I'll do the dishes for you, give you a break". What an amazing place to eat. The atmosphere was great and the food was to die for. I was a little worried when the food was taking a little while but then the owner came out and apologized for the mix up in the kitchen and gave us some complimentary cakes. I cant wait to go back again. Loved every crumb.

Shocked by the condescending and arrogant attitude of David the owner. The customer is not always right - his words. Staff brought out a coffee and said it was a latte so my friend took it as she had ordered first and didn’t worry it wasn’t a mug. Then David plonked a mug down and said latte so we queried it but he walked away. No replacement came so I went in to ask for soy Capp with choc as was the original order and when David served it he said” commonsense would tell you that the cup was a cup and not a mug.”Hey mate. No choc and served as a latte and no knowledge of soy from the staff member when asked when the first cup arrived. Ruined our visit to Kerikeri. Stunned by his rudeness. Needless to say, all three of us spoke to him before we left. He was rude. Two of us are senior citizens. I have travelled extensively and been to thousands of cafes and restaurants. This was the worst service ever. The thing is , I was going to pay for the second cup brought out but when I was accused of ripping him off and he had cameras! Sorry but no. I walked out.
