It's extremely tasty, it's served in generous proportions, it's served by friendly people, but... IT'S NOT TEX-MEX! I spent over 30 years in Texas and lived in several parts of the state; Mexican food was then, and is now, my favorite of all food genres. Tex-Mex is not just whatever you say it is - it has a definite meaning, and Capital Tacos' menu is not even close. They deserve to lose a star for false advertising, but I can't. The food is too good. My taste buds will disown me if I give anything less.
I'll vouch for the Ranchadilla and the Hen House Nachos my wife had. Both had fantastic flavor. Anybody who knows me will tell you I'm a big eater, and the Ranchadilla filled me up and then some.
I don't like being asked for a tip prior to any service being provided, and I'm glad to see others making similar comments. The only other thing we didn't like was the bright sun coming through the windows. They need some kind of blinds.
It's good. We're gonna go back. But it's not Tex-Mex. :-)

A bit disappointed in the birria as I felt it was a bit sweeter than other places I’ve had. Maybe too much clove and cinnamon. Quesadilla wasn’t too bad. Each piece had half of it solely tortilla. Chips and queso were great! I’d come back as there’s other things on the menu I want to try. Great friendly service and clean facility too.

Legit tacos. I had the pork and chicken. The house branded sodas were a nice surprise since that's so rare nowadays. All the flavors I tried were solid and I think the root beer is my favorite.

Not one to generally post negative reviews but for $30 for 3 tacos and a drink... This one was well deserved. I didn't have high expectations BUT I guess you get what you pay for in service. Lows were the still cold frozen fish fillet taco and the rice that was so undercooked I could have chipped a tooth. Took over a half hour to get my food so was hoping it was going to be well worth the wait. Not the case... guess they must have just been busy with to go orders. All the tables were dirty so they must have been busy at some point but I was only one of 3 diners. Save your money and time and go to another fast food mex spot, you will be glad you did.

We had food catered from here for an in-office event of about 15 people last night, and wow it was so much more than we expected! The food was delicious, the set up was great, the amount of sides and toppings you get is ridiculous! Ordering and delivery was super convenient also! Thank you! Highly highly recommend them!

This food is fast food, I was unsure based on the menu and reviews. It is expensive fast food at ~20$ a meal (without beverage).
I got the birria tacos, they were inedible. It amounted to being overly salty (I typically love salt), excessively oily, and there were only two ingredients, cheese and meat. There were two or three squares of diced onions, and about a gallon of grease/fat/oil. I tried my best to power through a single of three tacos, couldn't do it and threw the food away. Waste of money
I would not recommend this place to anyone, the food was on par with del taco or Taco John's. I was born and raised in Texas, this is absolutely not any kind of Tex-mex cuisine I have ever been exposed to. Tex-mex is one of my favorite types of cuisines, if not my favorite, this is barely even food.

The food was good and flavorful. I had the fries covered in pork and queso. My complaints had to do with the price (it wasn't worth $18) and the automatic request for a tip. The food was very americanized Mexican food, not authentic at all. In all likelihood I will not go back.

My wife and I have been here 3 times now. It is quickly becoming our favorite taco place. The food tastes great, the portion sizes are large and the staff is friendly. The chicken fajita taco is my favorite so far. It has a unique mix of flavors that I really like.

Chicken Fajita Taco
Ordered online and took my order home, so I didn't spend much time waiting. Based on other reviews my family ordered to share. We got the queso bites, steakadilla, and MC yum yum nachos. TLDR; super flavorful and will be going back for more!
I loved the packaging - it was delightful to see eco-friendly containers. The amount of food we ordered was enough for the three of us (two adults and a tween).
The steakadilla was tasty, but the ingredients weren't evenly distributed. My slice was loaded while another was just cheese. Easily remedied at home, we just sliced it into eighths.
The MC yum yum nachos were insanely good! The fresh chips are thick and tasty, and the toppings were plentiful. The Adobo chicken would have been enough for me, but the bacon and chorizo added an extra flavor punch.
The queso balls and just that - fried balls of queso. So glad we got those!
When picking up my order I noticed on their menu that they serve margaritas. I'm planning on eating in person next time to give those a try.
My only gripe was there were no prices in-store on their menu. So if you're on a budget, check out the pricing online to plan ahead.

First time visiting on a Tuesday evening. The young lady taking our order was SUPER friendly. The homemade chips are wonderful (AND served warm beforehand which was a bonus). Then the tacos. Oh my, the tacos. You definitely get a big bang for the buck. I had the MC Yum Yum and the Big Kahuna. Both were ridiculous!!! I honestly ate both but was completely satisfied after the first (yes, I know, the chips might have been a little much lol). My wife had the shrimp tacos and commented “these are probably the best tacos I’ve ever had”. We eat a LOT of tacos from all over the place so that’s saying a lot in our house. The were fresh, hot, and well presented. Thank you Capital Tacos, we will be back.
