Best food I had in Sri Lanka (so far ;)). Very creative dishes, grounded in Sri Lankan cuisine and ingredients. The menu was clearly created by someone who knows and loves food, with experience in modern cooking.
We went there twice during our 2 day stay..

Visited here for lunch. We had flat white and daily juice which were both amazing. Great coffee!

We were looking for a place to celebrate my birthday over dinner and cappuccino bistro completely exceeded all expectations.
Hands down one of the best restaurants we have been to during our 3 week trip in Sri Lanka.
Food was excellent and service was top notch. Loved everything we ordered! It's a shame we only just found it on our last night in Sigiriya. Give it a go - I promise you will have no regrets!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Cappuccino Bistro, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the host, who promptly escorted us upstairs to the fabulously decorated natural seating area. The attention to detail in the decor truly created a charming and inviting atmosphere.
One of the first things that caught my attention was the diverse menu. It offered a wide variety of options to suit all diets and tastes, ensuring that everyone would find something they loved. The staff also made a point to inquire about any allergies we may have had, which showcased their commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
The thoughtful gesture of serving water in clay cups added a unique touch to our meal. Furthermore, the staff readily shared the WiFi password, allowing us to stay connected if desired. Additionally, when our child expressed a craving for Coke, the staff kindly offered to bring it from the nearby dairy across the road, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, including the toilets and washrooms, were exemplary. It was evident that the staff took pride in their work and ensured that every aspect of the bistro was well looked after.
While we waited for our meal, soothing background music played, accompanied by a selection of books available for perusal. These small touches created a relaxing ambiance, making the wait enjoyable. To our delight, the food arrived promptly, and it exceeded our expectations. The menu truly delivered on its promises, with every dish prepared impeccably using locally sourced and traditional ingredients. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it was evident that the chefs were skilled and passionate about their craft.
Throughout our visit, the staff remained attentive, helpful, and genuinely interested in our dining experience. They went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, making us feel like valued guests.
Lastly, I must commend the bistro on their brilliant lattes. If you're a coffee enthusiast, this is undoubtedly the place to go. The rich, perfectly crafted lattes were the ideal accompaniment to our meal and left us craving for more.

After struggling to find nice cafe spots in this area we were so lucky to find this place. The atmosphere, interior and eye for details
Is amazing. The service was great as well as the food. First time tried the water buffalo curd - not our favorite taste but the bowl as auch was really nice. Unfortunately they haven’t had the avocado bread which was on the menu. Also the engere bowls were really nice. The coffee was also delicious

After eating there, I felt very sick. Talking to other locals they mentioned that I wasnt the first one with this issue and that apparently the hygene in the kitchen isnt the best. I cant prove any of it, I just know that I didnt have this problem at any other place in Sri Lanka so far. You decide.
Apart from that: The ambiente is amazing and the service was kind. I enjoyed my afternoon break there a lot.

Some of the best food I’ve had in weeks of travelling with the best customer service so far. The man who served us here was so kind and friendly - he couldn’t have been quicker or more attentive and gave us complementary water and dessert. Was recommended to come here by tuktukrental and it was a great suggestion - will definitely recommend to others.
Also so happy to hear of coconut milk here after not having a non-dairy milk for a while. The staff also checked if we have allergies so I think you’d be safe here if you have dietary requirements!
I had the cheese and tomato roti and chai latte - both 10/10. I only took one photo of my last remaining truffle as I was so quick to eat!

Lovely little restaurant, food is absolutely beautiful and super tasty. Staff are so friendly. We had the breakfast bowl, tomato and spring onion roti and some sweet treats.
