That's a nice idea to order nicely cooked fried chicken, grilled bacon and coleslaw. Good biscuits can be what you need. This cafe has the great coffee selection. Carla's Cafe is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. You will pay adequate prices for dishes. The service and food was great and the prices were very reasonable! I would love to say we will be back, however, since smoking is allowed inside, we won't be. To the owners: Please consider not allowing smoking even if you don't mind it yourself. Many people find it disgusting while trying to eat and any business you lose will be more than made up for in the future. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10

This place is awesome! We went to the nearby Johnson Shut-ins and stopped here after for food and we were pleasantly surprised. The food is great and the prices are fair, the staff is really friendly and they have plenty of seating. They do allow smoking which we aren't used to being from a busier town in Illinois, but it isn't a deal breaker for how great everything else is. Food was good, and our server was really welcoming and nice. Food came very quickly- was even surprised how fast it came. Good portion sizes, and a kids menu. We stumbled across this little restaurant a few years ago. All you can eat fish on Friday and Saturday for $11.00 ! Her cheeseburgers are the best 👌 Double cooked French fries 🍟 amazing! We've never had a bad meal here. The owner, Carla Savage puts her heart and soul into everything she makes. I can't say enough good about her . After a day of hiking at many of the incredible trails in the area this place is perfect for high quality home cooked meal. It is like going to that one house in the neighborhood as much as you could because your friend's mom was by far the best cook. We ordered 6 different meals for our party and not one complaint everyone very happy with their food. Always best to support those local businesses as well. For some folks not use to it there is a smoking section, just a heads up - we did not notice it once we were on the other side of the restaurant.
