An absolute star of Colonia del Sacramento!
We were visiting the town midweek, for the first time so weren't sure how our dining options would go. Fortunately a couple of people had recommended Casa Viera so we figured we'd give it a go. So glad we did!
The place was booked out, even at their 730pm opening time so we had to sit on the street. In all honesty, it's where we would have chosen anyway!
Service was quick, polite, engaged, helpful. The waiters spoke perfect English in response to our terrible broken Spanish and we felt comfortable and relaxed.
The baked provolone was outstanding, but the risotto and the braised beef ravioli were a bit underwhelming. Also, they had a few dishes unavailable and when your menu is so limited (6 options for each course), it makes an impact.
Still, cocktails were amazing and the location special. We loved it 👍

The food was delicious, the best I have had in Colonia. For desert we tried the cocktails which were one of the best I have had. Atmosphere is very relaxed and excellent service by the kind waiters and clearly experienced bartender who makes the cocktails. 5/5 would highly recommend

The best and original cocktail in Colonia Del Sacramento. The bartender is very talented.
We had only two appetizers: the mushrooms and the shrimps, and both were so delicious.
We really liked our server, who showed us a lot of attention.
Casa Viera is definitely the place you want to have a drink and dinner.

Great experience, as well in other reviews, haven’t eaten that well in a long period. From the beginning, the “cubiertos” and starters (we ordered breaded shrimps) were delicious. The main dishes were ossobuco raviolones and pumpkin risotto, both were incredibly tasty and so well executed. For dessert, creamy chocolate with olive oil and of course, the Uruguayan wine was amazing. Highly recommended for a fine dinner when in Colonia. The staff was the cherry on top of everything.

Always a pleasure to dine out here! A busy spot at the end of the old town in Colonia with fine wines and a delightful mixed menu. Food tastes delicious, trendy cocktails and a welcome tipple to start the night..a nice touch. Service is always with a smile and friendly bantor, great guys, keep it going!!

Cozy small little place with really really good food! I mean the food was super memorable so please go here…you will not be disappointed. The place isn’t very big but it has a really good view of the beach which adds to the amazingness of the place. I tried a couple of dishes (can’t remember the names) but everything was good. The coffee at the end was super smooth and not bitter and they even gave me a free Grappa at the end. I ended up going back again the next night because the food was so good. Really, this is some of the best food I’ve had hands down (not just in Colonia!) I recommend you make a reservation because it can be very busy but it is well worth it.

Great service, atmosphere, and food! They have everything Russians love: good vodka with black tea, delicious bread and pancake… The best cubierto of Uruguay! Strongly recommend it!

✓Excellent in every way.
✓We did not have a reservation at 8:30pm, walked in after reading good reviews.
✓We were greeted politely & given our choice of tje only two tables that were available.
✓We chose to be seated in the indoor courtyard between the bar & main restaurant.
✓Through a window we had a view into the kitchen, very interesting to watch.
✓A small vodka & berry cocktail arrived with the delicious bread basket & dip.
✓ We shared the empinada appetizer & they were full of beautiful BBQ sauce & braised beef.
✓One of us ordered the ravioli which arrived with an amazing & different, buttery sauce with candied pecans & a few roasted cherry tomatoes. It was amazingly delicious. The other ordered the rissotto, which came with roasted butternut squash & was delicious. The portions were generous.
✓ Highly recommend this restaurant & would return in a heartbeat!

Incredible place to eat in Colonia. The service was excellent from the minute we walked in. The food was fantastic. We had the milanesa, pesca blanca and shared the langos starter. Everything was full of flavour and there was plenty of food. The cocktails were great too. A must visit if in Colonia del Sacramento.
