The food was amazing. There was a slight hiccup with the time it took for anyone to acknowledge us. But once they got to us it was phenomenal. The meal was out of this world. The atmosphere is romantic. Great spot for a romantic dinner or even a business meal.

We love the tavern. It is really beautiful since the makeover and we love the food and staff. I only have 1 critique or I would give 5 stars. Twice we have ordered the lobster chowder and both times the hulls of the corn kernels were too tough to chew and we left them in the bowl.

My first time for lunch and we loved it. Our server Bryan was excellent and very polite and attentive. Highly recommend the French onion soup, burgers and crab cakes. Will definitely return.

Wow! For a Tavern to require reservations it must be something special. We'll, Chadds Ford Tavern delivers "something special" at all levels. Atmosphere, food and service (thanks Betsy) are all top notch. If you're in Chadds Ford, or anywhere within an hour drive go straight to CFT! You will not be disappointed 🙂

Good food and good service! Really enjoyed the appetizer sampler and the lobster chowder. The steak was overall okay. It had a faint almost chemical like aftertaste but it was cooked how I ordered it not overdone at all. My husband enjoyed the seafood fra diavolo and said the scallops and shrimp were delicious. Our waiter was attentive but not pushy and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. Definitely will be back to try some of the other dishes.

Came here for lunch with a friend today at 2:30 and while the French onion soup was good, the rest of the experience was subpar. The service was terrible. Not lacking exactly, our server wasn’t missing- he was actually there TOO much and too fast. We were one of five tables in the restaurant and felt like we were being rushed the whole time. To the point that we questioned our sanity to each other- it is the middle of the day, right?
He kept rushing us to order drinks, then to order food. We had to ask him to come back on 4 separate occasions. We ordered our drinks after the 2nd request and 5 min from seating, and appetizers five minutes later. Then he came right back and asked for entrees, and we had to send him away again (like we were blatantly still looking at the menus and had been sat for maybe ten minutes).
Then our French onion came out and while it was still scalding hot and too hot to eat, he brought out our entrees, and we actually had to send them back. Like it was ridiculous, we had barely been able to touch our soup.
When he brought the entrees back out it was clear they had been left under a heat lamp- oil sogged slightly burnt fish and soggy stale fries. At this point we gave up and were like yeah everything is peachy. Please just stop rushing us!!!!
Not at all the experience I expected, and highly irritating when you are spending $100 on lunch for two.
I had requested a dining room booth and I think they might have put us in the section of a server who was finishing his shift from brunch/lunch- and that is even more not okay and this entire poor experience rests on the management- not sure if there was a manager there this afternoon because I didn’t see one. If that’s what caused this issue shame on the manager as a server shouldn’t be tied to a section at 2:30 in the afternoon, a server doing pre shift or assigned to the bar should be allowed to pick the table up.
Anyway, $100 for a rushed lunch and soggy fish and chips, won’t be back.
Adding a picture of soup because it was the only part of our $100 lunch that didn’t irritate me.

The service was great! Another trip out with my food friend who I tend to be out with for hours lol. Our server was wonderful, kind, and never once made us feel rushed while we monopolized one of his table for such a long time 😁 (btw, I always take into account that they can't flip our table when it comes time to the tip). He even handled it great when my friend kept asking him if he was single 😂
The food was amazing, I had oysters my friend had the clams as our starters, great beer on tap, and they made her Cosmo to perfection! For our meals I went with the steak sandwich because I had a hankering for horseradish sauce haha! It was delicious. My friend went with the cheese board and the selection was great, it came with salami, kalamata olives, (sure that's spelt wrong haha!), and great toasted bread that paired with the Beretta perfectly.
Hands down will visit again!
Sorry, didn't take pictures of our oysters or clams 😔 but trust me, they were delicious!

Roast Beef Sandwich
A fantastic lunch experience at a very classy Tavern. Located in beautiful Chadds Ford, PA, this eloquent tavern offers a nice variety of culinary delights from seafood to handheld sandwiches. There is a nice sit down bar that offers cocktails, beer and wine. The service is excellent. Our hostess sat us immediately, and our server, Leo, went above and beyond to make our lunch experience comfortable and inviting. For lunch I stared with a red sangria which was sweet and fruity. For lunch I had one of the taverns classic meals, Jumbo Lump Crab cake. The Crab Cakes were firm, moist and packed full of crab. It was complimented with a sweet, rich and creamy corn risotto and garlic spinach. It was amazing! The atmosphere was relaxing, with light rock music playing in the background and sports playing on TV above the bar. There was also a separate seating area away for the bar perfect for families and large groups. A great place to have a wonderful meal if visiting Chadds Ford PA.

We came here after stopping by the winery around 2pm on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised by all of the food options. We got the wing sampler, short rib fries, and truffle fries to share. All were very good and tasted fresh. I ordered the eggplant parm and thought it was tasty. Not too heavy or greasy. Would definitely come back.
