THREE VISITS - THREE GREAT EXPERIENCES Chef Darrell opened up, just for us, on a frigid Tuesday. We drove down from Saranac Lake, six of us from Will Rogers, and were treated like family. The food was good: soup, sandwiches, french fries; the diner was clean; and service was outstanding. Update: took another cruise out to Blue Mountain Lake; had another great experience at Chef Darrell's Diner. The place was hopping, but the owner still made time to treat us like VIPs. 2nd Update: The shrimp and grits with pepper cream gravy is my new favorite! We were pleasantly surprised as this was our first visit with Chef Daryl. Food was excellent and he was charming as ever. We will make this a definite stop on our travels. The shrimp and grits were very tasty!! We also had the stuffed french toast...wow...FABULOUS!! Chef Darrell greets you at the door with a smile. You can’t miss him. Don’t miss his diner in Blue Mountain Lake either. Enjoy his deck and dine al fresco. Home cooking by the man himself. Skillet specials will hold you for the day. His ice cream is great too. Music soundtrack not your usual elevator music. Great place!
