After looking at McLaughlin Eastshore State Park, have a meal at Chevys. Immerse yourself in outstanding Mexican cuisine here. Since this location was closing, a friend and I decided to eat here last night. Because they were understaffed, all that was available were appetizers and fajitas, which was fine with me. Chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. Fajitas tasted just okay despite being served on their signature hot plate. Service was decent as well, despite them being very understaffed. As the closing date gets closer, expect this place to be active, so be sure to get a reservation. They're closing at the end of April, yet have already limited the menu to fajitas and appetizers. You can only order off the appetizers menu & from the fajitas menu. Alcohol wise they seem to have everything still but you'd think they're closing next weekend with the menu THIS limited. It took an hour before any food we ordered was delivered to our table. I'd say if you have fond memories of this place and are sad to see it go, don't try to come back one last time... I had a cheese enchilada's rice and beans. And a Margarita. I love Mexican food and eat it often but I did not like the flavor of the sauce. And the Margarita was very small. 3 drinks and it was gone! The atmosphere is good and the service was great. The employees are friendly and very helpful.
