I had a great experience, all thanks to Natalie. She was one of the best, if not the best, server I have had in years. So kind, accommodating, and diligent when it came to making sure my food was allergy safe. All servers should aspire to her level of service.

I recently visited Coastal Flats in Fairfax, and it was a really cozy experience, perfect for a winter evening. The atmosphere of the place was inviting and warm. We started off with some appetizers, their signature ozies, and delicious lobster bisque, fresh and full of flavor. I chose the trout for my main dish, and it was an excellent decision. The trout was cooked just right, with flavors that were both delicate and satisfying. The drink selection was impressive too; their signature cocktails were creative and paired well with the meal. Our server was incredibly attentive, making sure everything went smoothly despite the restaurant being quite busy. Plenty of parking nearby, but it can get busy during peak hours which will lead to some extra walking. But that's ok, another excuse to eat a little more. We like to visit it often.

Going to a Great American Restaurant is always an excellent choice! I was back in town for a trip so I knew I needed to go to at least one. I've been to this Coastal Flats multiple times before this and it's always great. The service is top tier and the vibe is welcoming.
If you've never had it, I highly recommend the pecan-crusted trout. The sauce it is served with is to die for! The shrimp and grits is also excellent. But truly, I've never had a bad menu item here.

Anytime I have a chance to have lunch with my husband, I'll take it! The food was great! It was nirvana in my mouth ... the only thing I wasn't a big fan was the white chocolate bread pudding. It was a tad dry, but honestly, the caramel sauce and ice cream helped moisten it.
We had deviled eggs and new England chowder for appetizer, my husband order the fish fingers, they were on point! I always get the grilled salmon salad with warmed goat cheese. Perfection!

My wife and I visited this location on a Sunday before seeing a movie nearby. I gave 4 stars for the food not because it wasn't good. The food was. I had the special of the day which was a mahi mahi on polenta with some microgreens on top and some green sauce. The food tasted great if you got all of the elements together. If you didn't, the flavors didn't work well on their own. I really would have liked it if the flavors could have stood alone without always having to be combined. Let the main items on the plate be the star.

We met for lunch at Coastal Flats in Fairfax Commons. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday lunch.
We ordered the Baby Cakes Sliders witha side of grilled Broccolini, a Mango Chicken Salad, and a Coastal Roast Chicken. My Sliders were delicious and I polished them off. The Broccolini had an interesting and unùsual charred flavor.
My friends loved their salads as they were healthy and filling.
For dessert, we shared the bread pudding. Quite delicious.
This is a fun place to eat at. The menu is pretty much the same as Sweetwater Tavern and Carlyle Grand in Shirlington.
