Really good bakery chain in Mid to Northern Michigan.
We've been seeing their signs on I75 & US10 for years. We finally decided to stop and see what they were about. We chose the Bay City location.
The staff on site were incredibly nice and helpful. The atmosphere and charm is high at this shop. We like the merchandise and all the knick knacks they have for sale as well but real stars of the show are bakery items.
They have bear claws, paczkis, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, and of course doughnuts, as well as a whole bunch of other confections.
They are very heavily advertised in Michigan so we did go in with high expections and they were mostly met. We had a strawberry filled paczki and a cherry blossom. They were both well baked and tasty, but not superb. Much better than typical store bought doughnuts but not the best we have ever had but the price was incredibly reasonable, especially given the size of them
Recommended if you're hankering for a good doughnut and you're in the area.
I stopped in here Friday for the first time to try their donuts. I had my service dog, Theodore and my friend Sandy with me. A few people in line were asking questions about service animals, example do they get to play, how long do you use them, etc.
I politely answered and paid for my order. Then, I said if we like them we’ll be back. Well after I said that, the girl behind the donut counter said, you can’t bring him back here we don’t allow service animals in here. I said he is medical and you can’t refuse him by law. She replied back, the owner said no dogs of any kind. I almost threw their donuts on the floor and left, but no, I am a better person than that. I just left. Well, first, their donuts are horrible and next here we are. They will be reported to the ADA along with several more businesses and I am looking into filing a federal law suit against every business I have came across that is not service dog friendly.

Great basic doughnuts and jelly and apple filled. But the custard/cream filled now taste so artificial I can't even eat them. Thumbs up for the atmosphere and I've never had bad service.

Very nice place but was a bit difficult to find. My party of 5 was greeted in a timely and polite manner. There was one person I side when I arrived and my party seemed to upset them. Would like to stop I again on an on season day

Much better than they were about a year ago. Donuts are now soft and fresh no matter what day you go. Have a great taste now too. Higher priced than most donut shops but the size of some of theirs don't compare. The apple and cherry fritters are huge!
Quality sweets for the sweet tooth. Just picked up my paczki, OMG 10 stars. Each one is loaded and heavy. Thank you Cops and Doughnuts, you have a loyal customer now. Highly recommend.

Great donuts and great little place! First time going to Cops and Donuts. The bacon one was pretty amazing, and my kids loved them! Very clean and very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.
SO GOOD. I wish I lived right by a cops and donuts. Anytime I've gone in and there has been a line, they're quick to get through it. Prices are good and donuts are delicious! A great variety of breads, donuts, and other sweets.
Worst staff ever!! They didn't have the little papers out and I grabbed the first donut off the clearance rack and she tried to make me buy all the donuts on the rack!! I only touched the one I wanted.. Never going back!! Rudest experience I've had in a long time..
