After reading all the good reviews & ratings, we just had to visit Dave's Kitchen before we head back to Pta. As expected, they were fully booked for the Friday night but were able to accomodate us on the Sat evening. From the moment we entered the door, we felt welcome. We had a seat close to the kitchen & met the chef & owner, Dave. What a nice guy!! Interacting with us & the kids while preparing masterpiece dishes. The service we received from our waiter Mieke/Mike, was outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure our kids are comfortable & entertained. The food was delicious!! I had Mussels for starters & my husband the marrowbone. For mains I had Squid Ink gnocchi with prawns & mussels while hubby had the Pork Belly & creamy bacon. Amazing & very generous sized portions!! 👌 It was indeed a highlight of our visit to Stilbaai. I can most definitely recommend Dave's Kitchen. Our entire experience was 5 star! My kids will certainly never forget the "Elf ears" at the end 😄 Thank you Dave & team, we had a wonderful time & will definitely visit you again on our next trip to Stilbaai. Best food for many a year. Pork Belly superb. Short ribs out of this world. Had to upgrade to a top wine to match the food quality. We visited Dave's again in January and this time had the Fillet. Delicious and cooked to perfection. Cannot find fault. Visited as a party of 4 and all enjoyed the 3 courses. Fantastic service and advice from our waiter Martin, who certainly knows the menu. Very friendly atmosphere and very clean. Nice to be able to watch the food being prepared. Also noticed during any short intervals of not cooking their time was spent cleaning. Highly recommended.
I have eaten at many places but this place took the cherry 🍒 on the cake for me. It's well presented, The portions are more than enough. And the taste oh my word.... It's Devine. Compliments to Dave the Chef. And the staff is friendly, fast and makes you feel important to be there.

Great experience and great food. Dave cooks from an open kitchen with a small staff and you can immediately see his consistency and the excellence he demands and applies. I can honestly say that I've never had food arrive at my table hotter than I received at Dave's, as the nearest waiter will avail themselves instantly when pickup is called. Even with a full restaurant, the small staff kept up with orders flawlessly. The presentation is on par with great restaurants we've been to and the flavours were spectacular. I highly recommend the tasting platter as a starter to get an idea of where you would like to head with main course. For me, the fish meals were by far the best, and I wish there were more dishes celebrating the local ingredients like those fish dishes did. Dessert was grand and the chocolate fondant was excellently prepared and delicious (paired extremely well with an espresso for me). The milktart spring rolls were a refreshing twist on a boring classic, making someone like myself appreciate a south African staple dessert that's been shoved in my face since birth. Dave's is a superb, unique establishment and in a world full of quick and easy food, stands out like a beacon. I look forward to seeing how this restaurant grows and evolves

Exceptional food and service. I've been lucky enough to have eaten at many top restaurants in SA and abroad and this was one memorable meal. An exquisite taste experience with very unique flavors! I was reluctant to try the crocodile fillet and wasabi mash at first, but my son and his friend convinced me to try it. It was a white steak with some fat on it, covered in a barbecue basting. It was fantastic. I’m so glad I tried it. The whole fillet was served on a bed of beetroot, pumpkin and the wasabi mash, very well presented and a definite party in your mouth. I was wondering if the wasabi mash was going to be hot, but it wasn’t. It just added a bit of zing, and paired well with the other flavors … Price per fillet and rest was R180.00. I had two glasses of Beyerskloof Pinotage at R48 a glass, and my son had two grapetizers at R28 a glass . His friend had a Dom Pedro with double Amarula at R75.00 and a black label at R32 a bottle. total bill R1007,00 ( VAT included). Parking was easy and plentiful and the decor very unique and creative, including industrial pipes as bookshelves and ceilings lamps. I loved the whole experience and our waiter was sublime. I didn’t get his name, but he’s the hottie in the picture. I’d gladly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for something different. We were just too full to have a dessert, but next time I’ll definitely try the Amarula Brûlée.
Amazing food, beautifully presented with explosive flavors. Accommodating and friendly service from the manager and waiter, didn't appreciate the Chef shouting at the waiters as we walked in though, but understand the pressure of preparing each meal.. I would definitely recommend Dave's Kitchen to everyone and will most certainly return!!!
