I always enjoy a Doppio visit and the Rosebank Branch has always been a favourite. The upstairs section has slow service and needs a clean, rather sit downstairs. Food wasn't the best on my last visit, but I generally always enjoy their pastas and salad combos... actually almost anything off the menu. Staff and Manager are genuinely interested in your experience. Ordered "steak, chips, and bone marrow". The plate arrived and looked sad. The greens were wilted and the tomato was off. Definitely not the type of plate you'd take a picture of and share on social media. As for the steak: Asked for medium, but the steak was medium-well and overly salted. The potato chips, at least, was tasty, although a bit too oily. The bone marrow was okay with the added garlic and chilli sides. The waitress was patient. It was not her fault that that plate should not have left the kitchen looking like it did. (She was still tipped appropriately and treated respectfully.) The manager brought some fresh greens and tomatoes after my complaints, but never apologised. I visited Doppio Zero Rosebank on recommendation of my brother, but will personally not return to Doppio Zero Rosebank. First impressions last. I had a lovely cold beer and an awesome Chicken Crunch Burger. My wife really enjoyed the Salmon Bagle, too. The service was good. The only issue was that the table was sticky. I absolutely loved it ❤️. The food was amazing except for the burnt bacon. The scrambled eggs were divine! The chicken livers were lovely, too. The atmosphere was great, they had indoor heaters that kept us very warm. The service was great too. I'm definitely coming back. This restaurant looks lovely, and the setting is great. There is almost a holiday vibe tangible in this beautiful square with the fountains and pretty plants. The restaurant, though, was a huge disappointment. My food was off. Rotten. Horrible. Dont order the salmon with rosti. Everyone at my table tried a bite, and we all had the same gag reaction. I told the waitress and ordered something else. It took more than 30 minutes for my yoghurt bowl to arrive. What made me cross is that they didn't apologise and didn't compensate. Both breakfasts were on the bill. This is not service. Nor is it customer satisfaction. Even when I told them that I am a restaurant and food reviewer, did they just shrug. We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Their food was fresh and their drinks were also nice. And the presentation of food was beautiful and appealing. Service was great, we got our food at a reasonable time. But the company hires foreigners as waiters, in a country with such a high unemployment rate, and they overlook locals and hire foreigners, this is a great level of disrespect, so if you are someone who likes to spend your money to local waiters, this restaurant is not you, your money is leaving the country. The atmosphere is awesome, the restaurant is at the beautiful location, YOU WILL LOVE IT. My overall take? Other than the concern I raised, this is 5 star restaurant worth checking out. This doppio zero is pretty good. The aesthetic is very nice but there is limited seating inside so on colder days you might struggle if you don’t want to sit outside. The coffee is always great and the food is also very good. The only thing is I sometimes feel doppio’s prices are a bit much but definitely not super expensive. They have decent vegan and vegetarian options which is appreciated. The only reason for not getting five stars is that we came in a rather big group and our waitress was not very attentive or friendly. There is plenty of parking in the mall/zone/firs, I would recommend parking at the firs as it is the closest and it is wheelchair accessible as far as I could tell.
