Probably the worst Fish and Chips in Palmy. We got the expensive fish at $7 a piece. Absolutely disgusting and threw it all away. Hot dog was a dry old sausage that was kind of crumbed. After one bite even the dog didn’t want it. Chips were soggy and bloody awful. 40 minute wait at 5pm and only 2 other customers. Hugely disappointing! 889 was my sons favourite spot to get his Gluten Free Fish and Chips when he come to Palmy from Wellington. Have to say his last takeaway fish and chips were big disappointment he think this was one off staff was having a bad day, chips looked fried with old oil and dark color and the fish batter look the same. 🤔 Food: 2 Service: 4

Yeah so the ol’ customer service is fairly sub-standard. Cold and unresponsive when taking phone orders, the same when receiving customers in the shop. Request for a bag to place the ordered items into was met with disdain. Food was nothing special. Ah well Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Not very nice. Used to be good fish and chips, but not tonight. Fish was only about 5mm thick. Chips were soggy. Sorry but we won't be going there again. Service was good. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Great they have gluten free, seems clean, service was fast. However, the price was quite high and the chips not to the standard or volume for the price. I ordered Gurnard, and what we got was not Gurnard. Very dissatisfied customer.

Good toilet stop if ya heading pass there, even if it's the early hours of the morning. They've fixed the pot holes coming in and going out Atmosphere: 4

Appreciate the gluten free options. Its a shame the chips and batter have been soft and not crunchy the two times we have been recently.
