Good spot. Some of the food was yummy. Portions were big. Drinks weren’t cold. Staff was fine. Putt putt was awesome. Desert was great. The grass area was fun to play and run on. The Great Dane and the dogs on the farm is so cool. Parking was easy to get.
We probably caught them on a off day. They had a booking of delegates that were celebrating some kind of deal signing so that's where their focus was. Nevertheless we ate. We had the salmon maki to start, which was lovely. Very fresh. I had the salmon fried rice and hubby had the chicken satay noodles. The salmon fried rice was tasty but hubby complained a lot about the chicken satay. He said that it was basically peanut butter that was thinned down into a sauce which made the taste very overpowering. I couldn't taste it because I'm gluten intolerant but I took some home for my son to taste and he had the same sentiment. On an up note, the creme brulee was divine. The crackle was not too thick which generally overpowers the custard with bitterness. This one had the perfect balance and a subtle coffee flavour. I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert. We joined Du Vin for their Thursday Date Night Special, what a nice surprise and hidden gem. Tranquil and lovely a la carte dining area, got olives and breadsticks upon arrival. A veg fashion sandwich and salmon springrolls to share as a starter, which were all great and then steak, pepper sauce and chips as a main - chips were crispy and peppercorn sauce delicious, unfortunately the steak wasn't cooked very well, the pan was definitely not hot enough to create a nice sear on the steak while keeping the juices in tact, the chef I think slow cooked the steak, which lead to it being quite tough and we asked for medium rare, but was well overcooked, but not inedible. Our dinner was paired with an amazing Kanu red wine. We got all of this for R450/R225pp - which is an amazing value for your buck. We decided to also have crème brûlée - the bottom of the dessert was cold and the sugar on top was too thick, which made the eating experience a tad difficult, was served in a coffee cup, which was quite a nice touch. Although it wasn't a 5/5, we will definitely be back and eager to try all of the Asian dishes on the menu. Amazing, friendly and attentive service from Simba. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A tremendous find. Travelling with locals, none of whom had been here, all of whom will come again. Wonderful range of cuisine, with an Asian twist, coupled with excellent sparkling wines. An added bonus is the wonderful setting, and the finishing touch was the lovely, very reasonable shop. A brilliant place to stop for refreshments. Meal type Lunch Price per person R 300–350
As you enter the restaurant you get a feel of upper class elegance and are greeted with smiles. The restaurant is beautiful, the garden is lush and the views spectacular. The waiter was very friendly and very good at her job. The menu was simple but I expect it to be more Asian inspired (that's why we chose this restaurant). The food looked spectacular but fell short when it came to taste. The pork belly wasn't cooked long enough for the fat to be rendered and melting into the meat, so we got big pieces of fat that was inedible. The fish, however, was delicious. We had a wonderful experience at Kanu, Du Vin restaurant celebrating our son's 21st birthday party with a breakfast for 58 people. Tanya Wei the manager was such a delight to work with. She answered all my e-mails promptly, made special arrangements and allowed us to stay way past the breakfast hour to enjoy another coffee and sweet treats. On the day Tanya and her team were helpful (decorating the tables), friendly, attentive and we got great service. The food were delicious and the view (although it was a bit cloudy the morning) fabulous. What a beautiful venue. Thank you for making our celebration extra special. We received 5 star treatment all round. A lot of our guests indicated that they will definitely visit the restaurant and wine tasting again. Thank you for an awesome day!!!
This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant to take family and friends but something has changed. We went on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was surprisingly empty, there was live music but that was mediocre at best. Our Waiter was great but we were so disappointed to see that our favorite waiters Jason Jerome and Melody were no longer there. The sushi was nice but just didn't taste as good. The chips served with the burgers were cold and rubbery. The cocktail however was amazing. I don't know what has changed but the ambiance is gone and warm welcome wasn't there. This is a rereview. Visited Du Vin for the second time. This time it was lunch with the kids as well. Let's start with the positives... my pork belly dosh was excellent. So were the kids burger and soba noodles. My wife ordered the salmon main. She requested that it be cooked medium rare. On arrival she ate the potato, asparus and 2 of thr beets first and then when she cut into the salmon it was fully cooked (not even medium) she returned it and requested medium rare. When the dish returned it was properly cooked but her remaining veg did not return with the meal. When she requested it the male manager on duty was extremely rude about it and said there was only the beets left, he replaced the salmon and that's all that was going to be done. It was as if he suggested he did her a favor by replacing the salmon (which was incorrectly repaired). For an almost R300 dish I would have expected better and not a rude manager. The service from waiter Denzel was excellent. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
Went there for lunch with friends who we hadn't seen for a year. Service was good , but unfortunately, the food wasn't to my expectations, but to be fair, my wife's cob ( line fish of the day) was excellent. My pea risotto was unfortunately a failure , too craggy or stodgy, and was returned to the kitchen. The manager did come and apologise afterwards, which was appreciated! The setting of the restaurant is also disappointing. There are no views of the countryside/ vineyards beyond, so you could be anywhere . Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2
