I love this bar and grill in Washington DC. The bartenders really do know how to make a good margarita. The chicken burritos are amazing! The atmosphere really reminds me of California and the west. I have side job on Georgia ave. And when I work at Georgia ave I always stop by. The bartenders are nice and friendly they take good care of me. I always get a beer while I wait for my pupusas. And after I finish I get a long Island and shot to go. We had our annual Christmas party at El Aguila Restaurant today and it was a blast. A big thanks to the management for helping us make it a seamless experience for our team. We appreciate all the people that helped make our party great, specifically we'd like to recognize Guadalupe for her excellent communication and help with assisting us coordinate the event, and the wait staff which was very professional and proactive. The waiters, Erica Yanira, Ana, and Andre were very attentive and caring. Overall making us feel special. Overall 5 star experience. The food was good and plentiful. All the plates we got look similar, but we got a crab and shrimp enchilada (good amount of shrimp, not much crab), a chicken burrito which was full and good. Combination #1 with a beef enchilada. Probably should have gone with the chicken as the beef was not my favorite. The beans and rice were cooked well, and rice was nice and moist. Fresh pineapple juice was absolutely delicious. Chips were good, but salsa didn't have much flavor. Service was very slow. Menus needed to be cleaned, and one had burns on the back plastic. We were there nearly 2 hours. At first, we were a little slow ordering (about 15 min). Food took another 45 minutes to come out, and we had to finally ask for our check an hour after that. The prices were reasonable. Ranged between $15 -45 per entree. Close to where we were staying. Good place to grab a bite to eat, but not upscale. Went to this restaurant on a Tuesday evening with a coworker. It was later in the evening, around 8:00 and google said they closed at 10 so it was perfect for walking distance from the hotel. We walked in and there there wasn’t a host, nor any other apparent staff for that matter. There was a man eating at the bar area so I asked him do we seat ourselves and he said yes, that’s what he did. So we sat at a booth and waited for at least 5 minutes before acknowledged. Server was friendly, but for the restaurant not being very busy (a small group here or there and the one guy at the bar and 2 of us making 4 groups of customers) he was a little slow getting to us. The chips were a little stale, & salsa had a peculiar flavor to it, perhaps how everyone in that area prefers it. I didn’t care for it much but to each their own. We both ordered Lomo saltado and I will say the cook made up for the initial slow start. The dish was very nice and plentiful. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
