What a find. If you like meat, steak especially, this is the place for you. Excellent food, we had a rump steak and lamb chops and they were excellent. Absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic and the way everything was presented was fantastic. They even made carrot sticks for our little one to chew. We will most definitely be back to this restaurant. The burger was a huge hit with our daughter and the mix grill was fantastic. Cooked to perfection. The seating and atmosphere was wonderful; however, the ramp and flank were very chewy. The ramp cat was very tender and delicious. The capriccio was great. The Argentinian sweet was very good and biscuity. The salad 🥗 was tasty. The staff were very attentive.

Overall nice visit with the service being the best part. Started with the “pear” avocado salad which was nice, but did not contain any pears. Go figure. Ordered the meat platter for 3 and included chicken, some pork and some beef. Think it was around 55.00€ and a bit on the pricey side for overall dry chicken and chewy beef-certainly not my favorite. Ended the meal with their homemade crepe with vanilla ice cream and it was tasty. Overall 3.5 stars and rounded up to 4 stars for the attentive service. Our waiter Anderson suggested the bresaola to start it was one of the best starters I’ve ever had. The 800g ribeye to share was perfectly cooked and a fair price. The local red wine was perfect alongside, fantastic meal and value. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Fantastic steak with a side on french fries, great view from the main dining room. Very attentive service with good attention to detail and overall price was very reasonable for many of the dishes on the menu. A must visit. Terrible food. Worst hamburger ive ever eaten, covered in mayonnaise, flavourless meat and it was burnt.. said it had caramelized onions and had none, same with it having balsamic vinegar and it had none, also the bread was very dry. “Complimentary bread” (which they charge €3 for) is terrible, worse than the supermarket ones. Mixed salad had no taste and barely any dressing. Terrible service, the servers pressure you to Order more food. Only good thing is the view. When a local tells you it’s really good… Am staying in an AirBB condo near El caminto. The condo has 24 hour guards that I’ve gotten to know. Was talking to a guard about the back street that I use to get from Cascais’s main square to my condo up by the fortress. I was asking about restaurants on that street and he strongly recommended el caminito for steaks. So, I decided to give it a try. Being from the USA, I’ve learned, in Portugal, that you’re wise to not ‘judge a book by it’s cover’. The outsides of Portuguese restaurants may be plain but there can be hidden treasures inside. Very true with el caminito. Once you go up the steps leading to the entrance, there’s a sweet terrace with tables outside. Usually, I’d go for that but it is March and 9:30 with a chill in the air. There are tables on the main floor but i saw windows with tables on the second floor. I asked and was seated at a table upstairs with a view of the harbor. So much for the place. You also come for the food. The servers a super friendly and speak english well. I was alone so the server recommended this half bottle of red in the picture. Great wine. Has the mixed salad with greens, tomato, slivered carrots etc. it’s huge and delicious. Took half home as take away. The place is known for it’s beef so had medium sized sirloin and roasted vegetable side. Again huge. Steak was tender and sauces complimented the beef. Took veggies home too. Had nice conversation with the server about the meal, Portugal, Coimbra, and jazz in Lisbon. A relaxing and satisfying night. If you’re in Cascais, you should try it. Don’t think you’ll regret it.
