What a great experience! Definitely ask for the waitress Irene! She was amazing! All of her recommendations for my family were great! We ate all of it. Excellent food and service in an unassuming hole in a wall.husband had seafood tostada.I had shrimp cooked with garlic.daughter had fried shrimp basket.everything was delicious and fresh.better than some restaurants I’ve eaten in South Padre. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My party visited this restaurant in 2019. I ordered the boiled shrimp. It took over 20 minutes to get our meals. It was hot in the very small restaurant. And it was hard to get some cold fresh tea. Waitress seemed like she was overwhelmed. when we got our meal. The shrimps looked good. Giant size shrimps with heads on. I was quite excited. Until I started to peeling shrimp. Shrimp was Not fresh. From the head down to 1/3 of the body of each shrimp, had turn to mush (meat was deteriorating) inside the shell. I didn’t go back to that restaurant for two years. A friend convinced me to place an order at the drive-through and we both ordered fried oysters. At market price. The oysters had No taste. We’re not salty, sweet, pungent or coppery. NO taste at all. The oysters inside the breading or half an inch wide by 3/4 inch long. Eight oysters equaled about 2 1/2 whole oysters. 8 Oysters and french fries for $12.99 + tax. Waste of 💰 and ⏰ . I will never go back there again.

The only thing delicious here was the fountain soda. Shrimp soup was bland. It was loaded with shrimp and vegetables just not much of flavor and if you make them aware of it, they offer you fix it to your liking with the bottled hot sauce they have. The Shrimp cocktail was the same. Loaded but bland. I recommend you sit near the cashiers if you want to feel some air conditioning. It was very toasty just about everywhere else in the restaurant.

This place is underated, my wife and I love to go here and eat their fresh oysters and Mexican shrimp cocktail and their tilapia is great, good and friendly service. This place is a hidden gem. The food was terrible. The shrimp on the menu looked completely different from what was served. They still had eyes and guts and were cold. They didn't have most things on the HAND WRITTEN menu board. And the bathroom was gross. Really not a place I would go to or even tell anyone existed.

My wife and I love this place. We drive an hour and a half to get here, usually about once a month. Its not much to look at from the outside, but the food is absolutely amazing. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because service is not the best. Its not terrible, but could be better. It is BYOB, so if youre a drinker, bring your own.

First time here, food is from scratch and Loved it makes you feel like your at home with grandma, but service is lacking. Had no refills on drinks at all ( 1 hour time span), they would have been better of giving me a 16 oz. Can of coke. Food 5 stars Service 1 star training needed .

Moved here from garland 13 years ago. Aw Shucks was my favorite. This place is now our go to fish and shrimp place. As good as it gets and reasonable prices. Good people.
