If you prefer Mexican cuisine, then this restaurant is worth checking out. You can have nicely cooked chili, beef and enchiladas at El Mexicano. Tasty flans are the best dishes. Good beer gets positive reviews. Order great tea or delicious coffee. This place is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. The restaurant is hidden on a side street in Perkins. It is not a recent cartel startup. The waitress said El Mexicano had been in business for over 15 years. They advertise as authentic Mexican and they are, with what I would call a little TexMex added in here and there. It was and excellent find for us. Two of the best plates of Mexican food that we have had, in small town Oklahoma restaurants. Nothing bland from the salsa to the beans, excellent spicy flavors. My wife had the Fried Tamales. Two fried until golden brown, topped with tomatillo salsa verde and queso blanco, garnished with diced tomatoes and cilantro. Served with rice and beans. For me the Papa Poblano. It was a different presentation of my favorite Mexican food items. An amazing combination of a deep-fried cheese filled Chile Relleno rolled up in a slab of fajita beef, topped with sauteed shrimp in a creamy mushroom chipotle sauce, garnished with diced tomatoes and cilantro. It is difficult to explain how delicious this combination was. The creamy cheesy spicy chipotle sauce made the meal. On the side, the perfect charro beans, topped with fresh chopped jalapeno, tomato and onion. These 5-star meals you have to try. They favor TexMex in presentation and spiciness. A great Mexican restaurant, attractive décor, comfortable chairs and booths, with small town friendly service. Beer and Tequila is available. Their menu can be found online. The service is great, unfortunately the place is too small for large groups. First of all, we had to wait to be seated and also waited more than 20 minutes to get food. My husband and I both ordered two beef fajitas, his fajitas were good but mine were almost burnt with a bitter taste. After complaining, the waitress brought me a much better one. One friend got the wrong order too.The chips and salsa were good, but not the queso. I suggest don't come during the busy hours. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

I really enjoy coming there when I am in Stillwater. It’s just a short drive from Stilly and the food and ambiance is very nice. Yesterday I had a poblano skillet with sliced poblanos, chorizo, onions, mushrooms and Monterrey Jack cheese. It had a great flavor and was perfect with chips and tortillas. The margaritas (rocks) were outstanding today. I highly recommend these when you visit. As you simply can’t beat the prices. The first time we ate here it was much better. I feel robbed honestly. The side dish plates were dirty. The first thing out on the table was dirty. The fish tacos had very few fish pieces on it, the poblano pepper had barely any chicken in it. Definitely, we'll never stop here again. This place was absolutely amazing. I came up from Sulphur and ate with my cousins and everything from the waitress, to the food and drinks was amazing! And it was surprisingly super cheap. I honestly can't wait to go visit my cousin again so we can go back here 🙂 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had lunch with family and friends. It was everyone's first time eating there. There was plenty of food served. They have a 2 lb burrito. The queso was a hit as well. Service is great, but food has become increasingly bland. Almost tastes like they are adding MSG to the food, of which I am allergic to it. I have been eating there for over 5 years... The restaurant was not full and our waitress seemed irritated the second we were seated at her table. We ordered iced tea for our drinks she brought us what looked like just dirty water. See the picture. The waitress seemed even more irritated that I asked for a new iced tea. The whole experience was just very bland. The only time she was okay was when we checked out. Stellar! Always good! Just went on a VERY busy Friday night and service and food was amazing! Kudos for the great service on a busy evening. I have tried a fairly large cross section of this menu and it has yet to disappoint. Make the drive from Guthrie when I went good Mexican food. Keep it up!
